personally thrilled with the single choice. NCOE was one of my favorites of the snippets we heard.
I don't think Adam is faking being thrilled with ALL the songs that have made his album and I think it's kind of insulting to him to insinuate otherwise.

Honestly, Adam needs to release a song that will be played on the radio, not release a song to please a few vocal fans. I like NCOE and think that a lot of people can identify with the song. And for all the Trespassing lovers, I still think he will play it a lot during promo as a branding song.

Wow, that is SO true! I've read a lot of frog stories! When you find a prince story, it's very exciting. LOL. ;D ;D ;D ;D Before I discovered fan fiction I was one of those people who could not stop reading a book until I finished it, no matter how bad it was. It was like a compulsion. Fan fiction finally cured me of that but I confess it took two years and three or four fandoms and come to think of it, it may actually have been the discovery of fanfic .net that others have warned about that finally cured me. Now I can actually stop reading something that is bad. ;D

I was thinking about the whole single/radio thing as I was driving home through horrible traffic (and btw there's nothing like seeing the aftermath of a terrible collision to put fandom wank in perspective...) Anyway, I feel like Adam really, REALLY wants radio success. Like, seriously, I think it's his #1, all-consuming goal right now. The way they're handling this era is so different-- a lot of transparency in how much they're playing his songs for radio decision-makers, an insane radio promo tour, a bunch of radio concerts. They're really putting in a lot of work for hopefully a big payoff. I was also thinking that they had NCOE slated as the breakthrough single a long time ago. I can't remember the timeline of NCOE mentions, but it's been a topic for a long while. Maybe it took some time to get everything in place and get it right. Which kind of makes me wonder-- if they knew NCOE was going to be the big song with a big push, but it wasn't going to be ready in time, maybe they picked BTIKM as sort of a placeholder/filler song in the meantime? Otherwise why not just release NCOE right off? This way Adam gets a song out there, gets some spins, has something to play on the promo tour, and lays the groundwork for NCOE and the real push. Which takes me back to the idea that Adam is determined to do anything it takes to get that big radio hit, and I'll bet he (and the label of course) is totally counting on the Bruno connection to help with that. I think it's a really sound strategy, and I'm super excited to see how it all works out.

THE BIG PICTURE THAT ADAM WANTS Adam knows he has the voice and the talent, though he's not going to brag about it. It frustating to him that he keeps on hiting THE WALL. If this is what it takes for him to reach his goal, he will do it. I remembered Barry Weiss said that Adam wants to make it in this business and he's willing and prepare to work hard and do what it takes to success.

Love your deep thoughts NoAngel, however, when Adam did the LA interviews end of January, he was doubtful NCOE would even be on the album. I think it was the fact that CHR radio did not play BTIKM much that made RCA try to come up with a sure thing (if there is such a thing as a sure thing.) :-/
