idolator.com/6347011/adam-lambert-never-close-our-eyes-review-revue#.T4hnEfzafIV.twitterAdam Lambert’s “Never Close Our Eyes”: Review Revue Robbie Daw April 13th, 2012 // 3 The release of Adam Lambert‘‘s new album Trespassing is still a month away, but the Glam One whetted his fans’ appetites by unleashing second single “Never Close Our Eyes” yesterday. The pulsing dance-pop jam, produced by Dr. Luke and written by Bruno Mars, was met with glowing reviews for the most part, as critics praised the song for being a much better offering than previous single “Better Than I Know Myself”. Head below to see our roundup of how the Internet at large weighed in on Adam’s latest, then let us know your own thoughts on “Never Close Our Eyes”! : Fuse praises the song for being “a satisfying negotiation between an electro-pop banger and romantic anthem. It’s the kind of song that’s tailored both for the dance floor and at home/in the car sing-alongs.” :: MTV Buzzworthy gushes, “Set to a pop-rooted dance beat, Adam’s rock-tinged pipes carry the entire song as he sings about staying awake 24/7 to enjoy the hell out of his life.” :: The Prophet Blog gives the Glam One props for staying true to himself: “Overall it’s not the absolute best thing that Adam’s ever done, but it’s head and shoulders above a lot of today’s radio-dance, and there aren’t many artists who can be so blatantly Top Forty while retaining their individuality like Adam can.” :: PopCrush credits the other two pop forces behind the song: “The track features a hint of Luke’s up-tempo dance sound while retaining Mars’ melodic pop sensibility.” :: Clickmusic prefers this single over Adam’s previous one: “‘Never Close Our Eyes’ is an electronic dance-ballad with bite, despite the standard Dr Luke tempo treatment, and it’s a far superior song to Lambert’s first cut.” more

cassie, in my opinion classical musicians are the EASIEST to "trespass", simply because in classical music it doesn't matter if you are young, old, male, female, beautifull, ugly, straight, gay, Chinese, Italian, Esthonian, Alien. It doesn't matter if you play classical, jazz, pop, flamenco, traditional or whatever. All it matters is how you play your music. How good you are. For me the VENUES would help. Not Adam singing opera to attract them, but playing HIS music, doing HIS show in a venue that usually books more "serious" artists. That would help this audience to discover him. You want radio? Visit radio stations. You want classical music audience? Visit their "home". Adam is a young, hot pop star. I seriously doubt he has any interest in courting a classical audience. If anything, I hope more of his venues for the Trespassing tour are GA. Also, I have to say the wishlists I've seen for poor Adam are like my worst nightmare, lol. And his, too, I suspect. He can go more electronic/dance any time he wants, though. my post was a response to cassie saying that classical music audience is the ultimate audience while I believe it is an audience that easily accepts the talented ones. I didn't say that I HOPE he chooses those venues, just that (theoretically speaking), if he wanted this audience, the way to do it (for me), was to go to them with HIS MUSIC. I have no idea what audience Adam wants. I don't know what direction musically Adam wants to go in the future and I don't care what he chooses.I don't have a wishlist. I'm easy. I'll take whatever he wants to sing. It is his life and his career.

There is a mention upthread about a Walmart edition of Trespassing. Does that mean a censored version w/o f**k, a** and North Pole ( ;D)? My DIL is a fan, but would be hesitant to play the original in the car, taking her kids to school. In her case it would be nice to have a censored version as well as an original version for her car time alone. Just hope she would not get them mixed up! I don't know but I bought a copy of Glamnation at WalMart and it wasn't edited or labeled explicit either. I bought mine there too. I don't think they require editing or "explicit" labeling for just one or two off-color words. 8-)

I had to check the url to make sure I hadn't accidentally clicked on Taxtopia.com today... Try to keep it on-topic, guys, thanks! For Kanadie and others struggling with the venue/date changes, my sincere sympathies. I truly hope that all of you can somehow resolve the issues and still make it to one or more of these historic shows. I think the effort and frustration will ultimately be well worth it when you're standing in that concert venue and the opening notes begin
