This one needs to be reported on AO for same reason as earlier. Somebody?... >:( >:( >:( Hoppers listed the procedures a few pages back. Done, I think correctly. That site is a biatch to read.

Selling Adam Lambert
Whenever a presidential campaign starts here, or anywhere else in the world, various marketing agencies start promoting and 'selling' their candidates. In most cases, and many would argue in all, the winner is the candidate with the best campaign.
Some of those promos are downright hideous, but some are f***ing brilliant. The concept, the content, the visuals, the message, are all thoroughly perfected to reach the target groups. Just like a TV commercial. They're all designed to sell. They can make you buy smelly, disgusting cob chips and make you think you love it in the process.
Adam's got it all, imo. He's not difficult to sell, gayness and all, at all. Amazing appearances, shows, interviews... need to be utilized by some shark in a suit to that purpose. He just needs a top notch marketing agency. I don't think he has that, right now. Even Shoshanna appears amateurish to me.

Curious about this, in general. For any artist, say Adele even, who has had a phenomenal amount of album sales and single sales, and reaches say Gold with a single, but then people "complete their album" why does that not affect the certifications? And why do the official sales numbers not change? For instance, I am sure some of the people who bought WWFM eventually "completed" their album. So why do the sales numbers for the single not go down when it is converted to an album sale? Also, when i-tunes asks, "do you want to comlete this album" if you say no and DL the whole album, then I am assuming the original single sale counts. The pre-sale is for a month, right? Not just for a week. Let me get this straight. There is no way to get around the loss of a single sale. It will either be now (if you pre-order the album) or later when you complete the album, right? I was planning on DLing NCOE Tuesday and waiting to pre-order the album. I want the single to count for first week sales whether it's meaningful or not. :D Someone please tell me if I'm misunderstanding this. Btw - I wonder if RCA is feeling embarrassed reading all these great reviews for NCOE that say BTIKM was an odd choice for a first single and that's why it didn't do well. Of course I KNOW they're not but I wish they would be a little red-faced. :-[

Probably has already been posted or linked, but I liked the comment quoted below. While it's just a very short comment from an LGBT pub in Dallas - it does feed my hope that NCOE will bring new music types on board. "I think this single, “Never Close Our Eyes,” is a really good song with its electronica foundation but Lambert’s delivery commands a rocker’s edge. And his voice here has a beautiful grit to it that I never quite felt before." www.dallasvoice.com/listen-adam-lamberts-never-close-eyes-10106494.html

I wouldn't know but I'm guessing they listened to the songs and picked the one most like Whataya. If there was any deeper thought behind it than that I'd be surprised. :-/

Of course, you can DL on Amazon and every DL will count for sales. It just doesn't help with the i-Tunes chart.

I'm a member of AO but rarely go there (don't even remember my login anymore), can someone please fill me in about the extra perks (if any) pre-ordering at AO vs. iTunes? I mean, the album...thx! :-)

I think it is a good song and will probably sound great in the concert tour Adam will create. There were just so many better songs on the album that fit the Trespassing theme. JMHO

This is funny, but NOT! Benny Blanco is on a rant right now about dealing with labels! It is sort of off topic, but not really. Read from the bottom up. *****
5m Benny Blancoþ@ItsBennyBlanco A&R: Hey can u bring the snare and vocals up in the mix? Me: Yes *sends the same exact mix with different title* A&R: this is perfect!
7m Benny Blancoþ@ItsBennyBlanco A&R: love this song... i have a few small changes... can u just change the beat, lyrics, and melody?
9m Benny Blancoþ@ItsBennyBlanco A&R: you know i like it... i just don't get it... *fast forward 6 months after u blow up* A&R: i always believed in u!
1h Benny Blancoþ@ItsBennyBlanco Me: U like this? A&R: Can we put this on hold? Putting on hold = putting it in their itunes and never listening again
