This was a very pretty and emotional version. Adam was really selling the lyrics. It was almost like he was talking to the folks that this remix will benefit and all of the rest of us too. This was important. My thoughts exactly... so sincere. What a class act. HE.WAS.GORGEOUS! ST's reaction was a puzzle. Was he stunned by GNAFL's megawatt voice/energy/charisma so close up? We know it's mesmerizing... Was he disappointed with the choice of this song and would have loved to hear Adam belt out a rock cover ? Stephen looked out of it ..

Okay I am now on board with #timespentdoingthedougiewasworthit - because Adam was moving that tall, slammin' beautiful body AND smiling that killer smile at the same time. And we know the AI audience loves them some stripped down (we wish) oh-so-adorable, yet still sexy Adam.
Was he wearing nail polish? I haven't rewatched the performance yet.

I think "Aftermath" has always been about the lyrics for Adam and his message was clear. It's a free country and you can criticize the vocals, but it feels like nitpicking to me.

This has been an awesome and exciting day of anticipation just waiting on Adam. I kept telling myself that I was NOT nervous, just excited. As soon as Ryan told us he was up next, my heart started beating a million beats a minute and that was hard to do since it was already in my throat! My confidence in Adam certainly never wavered, but this performance seems to have meant so much to him that I just wanted him blow everyone away...with his voice and his message. And he did! Beautiful man, beautiful message, beautiful performance. Love the classic look. It really lets his natural beauty shine through. How can one human being be that gorgeous?

I think that it is not that just that we really love Adam and are super invested in him that causes us to be so sensitive to any possible flaw in anything he does, real or imagined. it is in my opinion possibly the fact that some are just so used to the hate thrown at him from within the Idol world on a daily basis that perfection is craved at every step to give no purchase to the hate. The vast majority of the 24 million people who just watched him on Idol have no understanding of this and just saw a gorgeous sexy man with an incredible voice sing a lovely song with bongo drums and a cool band. Having said all that, I thought he was PERFECT......of course, I am three martinis down You nailed it! And never mind the martinis, I've had none. ;D

There's a reason for the fan defensiveness sometimes, even if it's not productive or necessary. It (the 'hate') really doesn't bother me the way it did, though -- his success is undeniable, and there is much more in his future -- the haters (esp. in the 'idol bubble') are pretty much irrelevant, imo
