Happy Birthday!!
What a gift we've been given in April!! This music is EPIC! YES! EPIC, I SAY!!!
I don't know what RCA does or will do - - I know absolutely nothing about marketing or plays or adds; heck, just this year I've learned the meaning of 'gif'! - not to mention 'rusty umbrella' 'tea-bagging' and 'Eddie' . . . and I fucking love all this newness!
RCA has a treasure in Adam; I bet, truly, they are tingling from excitement as they think of how to package and market this gem.
Adam will be here for the rest of our lives. He found his way to break through - Idol - and now his sheer genius will allow him to break free and create.
Just as an artist should create.
I met someone recently who is a very gifted artist. She told me, clearly and simply, what is it like when she draws. She said that the picture forms itself - from emotions, from experience, from whimsy - whatever. And then she is compelled. Creating becomes a release, and afterwards she is spent. And, she said that when she puts the pen, or pencil, or crayon to paper, she feels like she is tracing. The outlines in her mind are so vivid it's as if they were already there.
I don't know Adam from Adam; but I have a feeling he's been ready to put pen to paper for a long, long time.
Ha! maybe I should have said 'paper to pen'!

I heard that Lionel Richie sold 20,000 albums in ONE HOUR on QVC or HSN (one of those home shopping channels)...LOL! Do we think Adam should do that?? *giggles That was huge part of SuBo's sales as well, she was killing it on QVC. Oddly enough that year Idol did a few hour long sales for Adam, Kris and I think Allison. I heard about them but didn't see the evidence myself. I just don't think they really appealed to the QVC market. I dimly remember something (hell, everything is dimly remembered these days) about some of the Season 8 finalistis doing QVC live after season 8 to promote some AI compilation CD plus their own CDs...anyone with an eidetic memory able to back me up on this? (Gelly, of course, but I'm thinking that she might have been spared the icky memory of our cheesy American shopping channel hawking AI stuff...) I seem to recall feeling relieved that Adam wasn't involved... ETA: Just googled. Apparently it was two male finalists who aren't Adam and Kim Caldwell who did the QVC Idol hour that spring. |

THANKS now im home for a while was gonna do my bit and stream NCOE, but scorned ,again will just have to stream therion instead Yeah, I feel a bit helpless that I can't help him here in the UK for ages cause they decided to build UK Trespassing promo around Queen :-/ Re: Nile's part on Shady live, I'm a guitarist and it's not that difficult but Nile's tone and feel are just incredible for funk music. Tommy's more of a rocker but he could definitely play it. Just wouldn't have quite the same vibe as the studio version! I'm wondering who's gonna sing Sam Sparro's part... ??? were you in a tesco,s store somewhere in wales today |

As long as we're coming up with kinder, gentler conversational gambits...as a charter member of IAMSHADY'SBITCH, one thing I've been wondering is...who plays the Niles Rogers' part during live performances? I'm afraid that it'll be Tommy /0\.... We got a picture of Ashley intently practicing the bass line using big ass earphones and baby, she is a kickin' bassist. No worries. Put me on team IAMSHADY'SBITCH right the f**k now. |
