My how my brain flows...... Gave a thumbs up to NCOE on Mix 106; while scrolling down the request list saw a song by No Doubt; Googled Gwen and Sting Super Bowl and watched vid of them singing Message in the Bottle; dreamed about Sting and Adam and George Michaels singing in a grand finale at the Olympics.....could happen......

I know I've seen that before. On the Acoustic Live EP Aftermath is listed as Published by Glambert Music. Glamnation Live also lists the Adam written songs as Glambert Music. Thanks. I just never noticed it. And I knew someone would know. On the song writing -- I would have guessed that Adam co-wrote Naked Love and he did not. So I honestly admit I cannot tell all the time.

Oooo, that was pretty damn good. Used the exact arrangement from the AI performance, pretty decent on the vocals and very cool staging especially with the fake tank effect. Very entertaining. There was some word strangeness but I'll bet he learned it phonetically from just a recording so pretty good overall. WOW, that was really good. He has a good voice and that water trick was awesome. Loved it.

I am surprised I would forget about "Glambert Music" because I clearly read and posted it before. OK Lambert, thanks for making me feel old.

Funny ... same tickets that Ticketmaster offered me as "best available" when I checked! I filled out the mediabase form for KBIG (LA) and wrote in NCOE. Is there any point in filling out the mediabase form for KIIS in LA, or would I just be wasting my time? Thoughts? I'd say forget KISS LA for now. Thank you!

Adam has a brilliant album coming out. But, if they want more than just his core fan base to hear it, he is going to HAVE to conquer radio. And both Adam and RCA know this. That is why he went on an exhausting 18-city radio tour, that is why he is doing a bunch of radio concerts next month (including one for a station that has basically ignored him, but is in an important market) and that is why they postponed his album in order to record some last minute radio-friendly songs, including one by radio's current darling Bruno Mars. This isn't angst, it is just reality. Adam has a great album, but pop success is what will lead to opportunity---opportunity for people to know it's out there, opportunity for Adam to get the exposure he needs by performing the songs in front of more than his established fan base. NCOE is a great pop song. I have a lot of confidence right now, and things are going to be getting vey exciting in a couple weeks. Not trying to jump on you, but it really irks me when people say this. Almost the whole album, or at least half is radio single ready, so I just wish people would stop acting as if the album was bad, and they had to go back to the drawing board to add in more "radio friendly" songs, because what he had wasn't good enough. And damn, the Bruno song was there for awhile before the delay, they just touched it up, like Adam had said, pretty much what he has been doing all along with the whole album; rerecording different vocals, getting different producers to get the songs to his satisfaction. Sorry, I just hear this a lot with nonstans with there passive aggressive comments, and it just gets under my skin. NCOE was recorded early-ish in the process and has always been one of the songs under consideration for the album. When they decided to use it, they added some final touches to it.

I've never said any song Adam hasn't written on "Trespassing" or FYE is subpar, but going strictly by what resonates with me almost three years later from FYE (after traveling through thick, thin and hearing ever version known to man during GNT), the songs that I still love the best are "Down the Rabbit Hole," "Voodoo," "Soaked," "FYE," and "Broken Open." Of course, Soaked and FYE were not written by Adam and the others were. I have actually never really cared for "Pick You Up," (though others love it) despite it being written by Adam and Weezer (who I have tremendous respect for). I never really cared for "Aftermath" until it was performed live. I'm going purely from visceral reaction to the songs when I decide which I LOVE and what I only like on "Trespassing." I LOVE pretty much all the songs Adam wrote on AND "Underneath." I enjoy BTIKM and Naked Love, but don't feel that certain something – that je ne sais quoi – that I do get from Adam's songs. I did not think NCOE was a great song initially, but felt Adam could sing the shit out of it. He does. With the new production, I pretty much love it right now. This is not loyalty, but just expression exactly how the songs resonate with me . I like songs that are about something or that tell a story or evoke emotion or imagery. This is where I generally find NCOE not as strong as the others, but the energy and incredible vocal make up for it. I think most of us feel that way. The difference is we are talking about what is right for radio, not what song evokes strong emotions in the fans. That's where I think hard-core stans miss the purpose of a radio single. A single is not selected for the fans, it is selected for the masses. It is selected because it is catchy, has a hook and blends in with or compliments what else is on the radio. It is selected because it will appeal to a large segment of radio listeners that cover a wide age range and a wide range of taste preferences. Fans can still have their favorite songs, but they need to get to a place where they understand the reasons why radio singles are chosen. It is VERY RARE that a fan favorite is chosen as a single to send to radio. I can't tell you how many times I have seen "Why did they pick that" or "That's my least favorite song" from fans of every artist at Pulse. **There will always be outliers like Someone like You, but they are few and far between. There will be a couple of outliers hits at any given time, but there is no really no way to predict those or sometimes even explain them. Where is Owl City or Kings of Leon now? I'll always be convinced that it was selected for the reasons stated above AND because Bruno's name is attached to it. My theory that they think it would add buzz to the single. I'm good with this, especially if it paves the way to other singles. I also theorize that he'll have more singles released over seas (and more easily) than the US.
