Yay! I bought the Demi magazine with Adam the Waterwalker-poster! Aaah, he looks so good! :D  What?!?! ??? Oh how'd I miss about this? plz  Oh, nevermind I got it. I'm so slow anymore, lol! I would love that picture, I think it was from Japan??? Where he's 'walking on water" in all black???? OOOOh! (btw does anyone know if that IS his pool?) jw |

Wow Gelly.. That is a pretty powerful piece... at least in my book. Its rare to have someone within any community talk frankly despite the expectations of tomatoes being thrown. Reminded me of when Bill Cosby essentially told the Black Community to look within first.

Just saw at another site that Cold Play and Jennifer Lopez are performing on Idol next week. So either Adam and Carrie are on the same night, 5/17 or Adam and Cook are on the same night 5/10. I am still going to go with 5/17 for Adam. Oh you know what, it is entirely possible that Carrie is doing the Finale. OK, I am still going with 5/17 for Adam. Can't see them having Cook and Adam on the same night. Unless they now consider Adam the star and Cook the ex-Idol! ;D

It's like this person only used info from other press or certain photos, but did not bother to go Underneath. BTW, I love Johnny, so no tomatoes please! We, as a gay male community, have still not completely managed to combat the steryotypical image in part of population’s heads that all gay men are ‘screaming queens.’ We long for a strong, butch, male to whom we can point and say ‘see world that is us.’ When we look at Lambert or a Johnny Weir, we are confronted with an image that makes us unconfortable. :-/ |

Speaking for myself, I could care less if an artist is black or gay or a combination of both. My favorite musical artists come from these two categories. Having said that, I DETEST Joshua's voice. I love Beyonce's voice, hate Fantasia's! Joshua is like Fantasia, but his voice is even rougher. I keep wondering if he is hurting his voice the entire time he is singing. He sounds like someone who has vocal nodules. His voice isn't appealing to me in any way, just like Fantasia's isn't and that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the color of their skin or Joshua's sexual orientation. (BTW, Joshua says he is straight.) I imagine there are many other AI viewers who simply just don't like the rough tone and Joshua screaming for the majority of most of his songs. Those things just aren't appealing to some people. I'm with you. I can't stand Joshua's voice. When he goes for a power note, he sounds like a cement mixer. Such an unpleasant tone. He still hasn't shown anywhere near the versatility that Adam showed when he was on Idol. (Yes, I compare everyone to Adam. You gotta problem with that?) That's a great article, gelly. The gay characters had to be indistinguishable from the straight characters. But gay men like Cheeks certainly exist, and it is insulting to them to pretend that they don't. It's like saying there's something wrong with being who they are, and there isn't! This article actually irritated me. I do not put Adam and Johnny Weir into the same category. To me Johnny is more effeminate, and Adam is classic might I say gorgeous, alpha male. He is categorizing them as freaks, because they express themselves a little differently, and are in the entertainment business. He is basically stating that many of the gay males have lives just like you and I. To me that is a given. Hell we (gay, straight, transgender) are all human being with insecurities, families, jobs, stress, happiness, kids, etc. I don't think we do anything differently except in the bedroom. I know Adam says he's a freak. It's okay for him to say it, but protective mamma here don't want others saying it !!!! End of Rant !!!! |
