"Vocal Range: 3 Octaves and a semitone B2-B5" Wha? B2-B5 isn't 3 octaves and a semitone ??? That and he's gone lower than B2.. but has never hit a B5 as far as I've heard. Can't put anything past you, can they? The YT of his range that they included with the article is probably the best I have seen, tho. What do you think? Haha, what can I say! Thought the rest of the article was good though and he does indeed "out-diva" many divas. That video is good, a bit too long but I guess it's expected for such a "comprehensive" video. Just a shame the low notes from Shady aren't on there! Wish there was a shorter video that just knocks you out right away  |

I didn't hear a hint of a backing track either vocally or instrumentally. Did anyone else? I know that backing tracks are ubiquitous in pop today, but Adam has so much more freedom if he has live musicians to follow him wherever he wants to take a song. The divas sang a harmony above Adam's at the very beginning. Unexpected, but not off key. Adam's voice did not sound sharp to me at the beginning either, but I would say that they had the mics really hot for that range of his voice so on top of Adam's naturally present, floating voice, he may have had an extra punch in certain frequencies to make it pop even more. (And since you are asking about pitch, yeah, that last "never" shout was flat. Sorta like the last note on Black or White on Idol. But, who the hell notices or cares?), thanks for keeping us knowledgeable about the music. At first I really struggled about "What is it about Adam that keeps me so entranced?" It was the voice to begin with and that is what I appreciate about your posts. Thanks for sharing your love of Adam's voice with us. Then of course came everything else about Adam... all around special, caring, magnificent human being. These new songs take me back to to focusing on his voice and amazing performance. Thank you sooo so much kay and lm2718 and all of you for finding these goodies. More car-duties just reared their ugly head so I'm saving these for later when I can relax and enjoy them. Now I know where to go.

3 years ago I was very interested in Adam's vocal range. But in the intervening years I have learned from listening to Adam that the frequency of the notes is not that important. What makes Adam's voice so different and so powerful to me goes beyond vocal range -- it is the way he uses his voice to express emotion -- and how quickly he can transition through a range of emotions.

Jumping in here...how do you get the url for the pic? Thanks , I first put the picture into photoshop and cropped it and then lightened it (I am an amateur, but I can fix pictures). Then saved it in my computer in my pictures. Then I downloaded it into Flicker (any photo saving site on line will let you to that. (Kodak, Flicker, Shutterfly) Then you can copy your pictures url from that picture save site. There may be simpler ways, but I use it to put pictures in the body of my emails also.
