Maybe Brian had been reading the Queen board. There are a lot of Freddie diehards on there who claim to hate Adam. I went over to read a bit after the Queen Tribute Band performance  and was shocked to see that they seem to prefer the Freddie impersonator over Adam. Way hasher towards Adam. I guess the impersonator isn't threatening to Freddie's legacy. (I thought he sucked...I might have mentioned that in another thread  ) Whatever. :  edit/ The sideview Adam BETTER be the standard cover. I ordered that version at Walmart just so I'll have it. ;D I think coz MM is not from a reality TV show |

OT but well worth watching! Video especially for those of us of a certain age that shows you are never too old to be fabulous. Adam would agree! Sorry, I couldn't get the youtube to embed. How to make it full screen? The 4 little arows in the right hand corner. It doens't lose any of it's resolution when it goes full screen either! It is so good! Every detail of the song is there! ;D |

Haha, what can I say! Thought the rest of the article was good though and he does indeed "out-diva" many divas. That video is good, a bit too long but I guess it's expected for such a "comprehensive" video. Just a shame the low notes from Shady aren't on there! Wish there was a shorter video that just knocks you out right away So what's Adam's vocal range in your opinion? close to 3 octaves? People has difficulties to measure Freddie's vocal range, due to the limitation of good quality of YT videos. So what's Freddie's vocal range in your opinion? People at DDD said they both have almost the same range, the difference's Freddie had more in the lower range and Adam's in the higher range. Is that right? I'm asking this coz i really want to know Well, from what I have heard, the YT is accurate. Three octaves, the lowest note being a Bb2 and the highest a Bb5. Glampoon says that Adam sings lower than that on one of the TP tracks. And the YT attributes a G#2, I think that I consider more of a vocal fry than a note. Rumor has it that he can probably sing more than a 3 octave range, but we just haven't heard it yet. As for Freddie, I am not familiar with enough of his work to say. I am sure that you can find a YT demonstrating his range as well. I know he sang lower than I have heard Adam sing, but I have not heard him sing as high, so the DDD guys may be right. It gets to be an issue for debate because what notes do you give someone credit for? I am not interested in how high someone can squeak or whistle, or how low one can croak or gravel. I am interested in USABLE range. That is, the range in which the singer can reliably, recognizably and repeatedly hit and sustain a note that sounds good. For Adam, I would say the lowest I have heard that qualifies is a good, solid C3. And the highest on pitch, sustained note is an A5, which makes his usable range at slightly less than three octaves. Until he sings higher or lower. Who knows? As Adam says, "But, does it SOUND good?" |
