I am not at all surprised, TBO. We are talking about a TRIBUTE band here. Paying homage to the late great Freddie by trying to faithfully recreate his music and his sound. No matter how good Mark is, he cannot outdo Freddie being Freddie. He is no threat to his legacy or his image. But, you heard what Brian said. They are actually going to do something new and different with the music because of what Adam can do with his voice. That means they are not visiting the Freddie shrine, they are moving on to something new and exciting for them. Horror of horrors, might they even contemplate recording some NEW music with Adam singing lead? If Queen does something new and exciting on stage or in the studio how will Freddie's reputation fare? Might some people say that Queen sounds better than ever (implying better than with Freddie)? Might some people marvel at what Adam does with the old and the new, with his powerful, rangy, technically superior --- oops, I mean proficient voice? Might there be a shout of "The king is dead! Long live the king!"? Adam and Queen are tampering with history here. Of course there is going to be resistance. Add to this, Adam already has a reputation for "ruining" other people's songs. As in, after he does a version of Mad World, or WLL, or Born to be Wild, people say they actually PREFER it to the original, and don't want to hear anyone else attempt a version of a song Adam has sung. What if that phenomenon is repeated with Freddie's music? This cannot be allowed to happen. I think to some Freddie fans what Queen and Adam plan to do is the equivalent to desecrating and vandalizing Freddie's grave. Too bad they have this perspective. Queenbert is going to be a fantabulous concert experience. They will be so busy defending Freddie's legacy and trashing Adam, they will miss all the goodies. I love Adam's voice to death. Freddie's voice shows a fantastic talent for sure but to me it lacks the texture and nuance that I so love in Adam's voice. I sometimes hate it when people compare Adam to a Freddie or an Elvis. Both those performers were tetrahuge and seminal and stellar talented. But none of them have Adam's what shall i say? level of evolution. And that is an intimate part of what Adam radiates to me. Maybe as Oscar wilde put it all comparisons are odious - to the living and the dead - it takes away people's uniqueness.

HASN'T ANYONE WATCHED THIS NEW VIDEO???????? IT IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watching on repeat!!! Incredible! Has anyone thought to tweet this to Adam and save him the time to find the best audio? I'm sure he likes to revisit his performances to see if he needs to adjust anything.. the perfectionist that he is.

Can't put anything past you, can they? The YT of his range that they included with the article is probably the best I have seen, tho. What do you think? Haha, what can I say! Thought the rest of the article was good though and he does indeed "out-diva" many divas. That video is good, a bit too long but I guess it's expected for such a "comprehensive" video. Just a shame the low notes from Shady aren't on there! Wish there was a shorter video that just knocks you out right away So what's Adam's vocal range in your opinion? close to 3 octaves? People has difficulties to measure Freddie's vocal range, due to the limitation of good quality of YT videos. So what's Freddie's vocal range in your opinion? People at DDD said they both have almost the same range, the difference's Freddie had more in the lower range and Adam's in the higher range. Is that right? I'm asking this coz i really want to know

Lyndsey Parker @lyndseyparker Here's my brief interview w/ @queenwillrock & Queen Extravaganza. Glamberts, there's a bit of Adam talk towards end - yhoo.it/JyUAlnQueen Talks ‘Idol,’ Adam Lambert & The Queen ExtravaganzaBy Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks While the Queen Extravaganza is touring the States this summer, Brian and Roger will be playing a few one-off dates overseas, in a special Queen lineup fronted by "Idol's" own Adam Lambert, whom they first met on "Idol's" amazing Season 8 finale. When asked what fans can expect from that understandably much-hyped collaboration, Roger exclaimed, "Fireworks!" And Brian expounded: "Something different. [Adam] has an extraordinary voice, there's no way you can get around that--whether you love him or hate him. He's extraordinary. So we'll be exploring new ways to do things. We don't like to just reproduce what we did before; we like to move on and try new ways of doing stuff. So it will be exciting!" OMG.. I know he said it that it would be interesting to see what's interpretation of their songs. So Brian really really.. I mean really want to hear and see Adam's interpretation of Queen's songs. I Love Brian even more now. No Pressure Adam ;D ;D ;D
