Ladies and gentlemen, we have photographic proof of life from another planet. Look at this picture. The glowing eyes. The glowing skin. They speak to you without words. I will follow whereever...

The "Impact date" is the "add date" which is the date that the label believe the song will have the biggest impact. The most common radio promotional plan is to work to line up most of the pop adds before on on the impact date so that the song has a lot of airplay momentum on that date. CHR/Pop stations focus on playing "all the hits" and work to coordinate the new hits with the major labels and within station groups. The playlists are strikingly similar from one station to another. hmmmm thanks. Doesnt leave much room for slow burners. But i dont thnk NCOE is in the slow burner category. I wonder how it went for WWFM? Labels want hits -- and fast hits -- because it is really hard and expensive to slowly build a hit. The situation with US Radio was very different in 2009 -- Adam was the first openly gay American artist to be signed to a major label and be promoted to US Pop Radio. There was a real concern that many stations would not play his music. RCA said that he was a visual artist and really spent most of the initial promo effort on TV and print promo. The fast story on WWFM.... RCA/Adam struggled with radio during the FYE era. FYE (the first US single) did not break thru as a pop radio track. 11/18/09 (4 days before the album released) RCA released WWFM to radio. (On sale 11/24/09). WWFM slowly moved up the charts. Entered the Billboard chart in January 2010, and peaked at #10 after Adam was the mentor on American Idol. (Mid-April 2010.) ---- The cycle is the mirror image -- they are spending a lot of time focusing on radio. Adam will have visited some radio stations 3 times this cycle before they release the album. I think/hope that RCA has finally learned that one of Adam's biggest strength is that he is really likable. In any case, as the promo is starting to fall together, it looks pretty nice to me.

For all those non-native English speakers (who, honestly, speak so well that I am starting to doubt that you are not holed up farmers in Nebraska somewhere--or maybe they wouldn't speak as well as you guys actually)...if you ever want to know what a lyric of Adam's means, just assume SEX. Hot, steamy, teasing, sex. I apologize to whoever I told the literal meaning of "fragments don't count, they only fall thru the cracks". I am sure now that every single phrase in BE is a medaphorical way of describing the torrid details of Adam's desires. So think dirty, very dirty and you may start to understand the meaning to some of these songs. ETA: or maybe I am just hot and bothered after watching that BE performance so many times? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! *spits out tea*

www.afterelton.com/meme-04-27-2012Morning Meme: Chloë Sevigny To Play Nymphomaniac In "American Horror Story," the Confusing "Out" Power 50, and Matt Doyle Sings "What You Stole" Posted by Ed Kennedy on April 27, 2012 The Out Power 50 has been named, and it's as confusing as any other year. Topping the list is Apple CEO Tim Cook, who isn't formally out, and other non-out folks like Anderson Cooper and Matt Drudge rank high. But what may get them in the most trouble is that there's no sign of Adam Lambert....

AfterElton @afterelton Video: On Jimmy Kimmel Live, @adamlambert performs “Never Close Our Eyes.” The song is an odd mix, it’s a rock song in every way, but also seems perfect to remix for the dance floor. Adam can definitely strut the stage with the best of them. tmblr.co/Z26HPyKQ46eG
