Freshtival musings.... Just booked a room at the Gaylord National and asked a bunch of questions. Apparently the concert will be out in the front lawn, on the river side. I asked how they will keep it exclusive to the "paying customers", and he wasn't sure, lol. Sounds like the area will be roped off, but anyone in the vicinity will be able to hear. This is sort of great, actually - those of us with passes will be really close to the stage (I anticipate that this will have less than 1000 people), but everyone in the area will be able to hear the amazing vocals!!! It does sort of torque me that there isn't a way to buy into just the show. I literally live 2.5 miles from the hotel. Ride my bike over there all the time. I could probalby hear the music from my house, lol. But have to buy a $250 hotel room to go. Oh well..... it will be a nice way to have a sort of stay-cation and avoid all traffic, etc. Hope they get a good turn out. It is weird timing and i wouldn't expect a lot of non-stans to be running from afar to buy tickets. First of all - how would anyone outside of the Fresh FM listening area know about it if they weren't already in the glamdom? Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Best news is a small, very local show, and a great location. Gaylord is quite impressive and lots of good restaurants around. There is a water taxi that goes to Mt. Vernon, Old Town Alexandria, and Georgetown, and also other river cruises that start in National Harbor. Plenty to do for a little weekend get-away. Ya'll come!

Voted...Is that 9pm Central time. I have not heard NCOE on radio... regular local radio or computer radio so I want to listen. Thanks I am not sure, it looks like every weekday at 9 pm Central time so we are probably voting for Monday airplay.

I listened to YleX Finland again. They had the most wanted weekly results programme on (2nd airing). BTIKM resulted 4th on its 17th week on the most wanted list. This time the host took her time and talked about AL and the inspiration that Sauli has given him in the songs on Trespassing, duly mentioning the drop date too. She continued after the spin on the same theme and was wondering how literally their relationships might be described on the album (because BTIKM must be about Sauli); how much details we might get in other songs as Adam has had a lot to do with the lyrics on Trespassing, concluding with we'll just have to listen to it in May. Well, her homewrok is a bit lacking but I welcome the extra introduction for the album.
BTIKM continues in the most wanted poll, NCOE is not part of the new songs. However, they have NCOE on their playlist, so all Finns can should make a wish with a comment whenever possible. The record shows two spins, apparently not taking into account their thursday's competition (rytmibarometri) where it was played at least twice (that I heard). Friday's spin is listed as the latest and that was due to our wishes (first must be some test spin last week).
IT PAYS OFF TO REQUEST (NCOE?) - and vote for BTIKM in the most wanted!

Hmmm...Would anyone be potentially interested in the room? I live relatively nearby so really just want day passes, but my luck with radio stations is zilch. Haven't dicussed anything with DH yet, but since there's a kid's area and a not-too-horribly late show, I am pondering taking the little one (and the scooter ;D). Heck, since it doesn't look too far from Mt. Vernon, might bribe the husband to do the "educational" trip we've been discussing which might {gasp} force the husband to come to an AL show. So, what I'm trying to say is that if someone wants a room and a ticket (versus 4pack) for Freshfest we might be able to work something out. I am in the same boat - live 2 miles from the Gaylord and don't need a room, but want to go to the concert. Let's work something out! I can be your 2nd child. Sending PM....... I live in N. Virginia and am pretty close but wouldnt mind the room for the night. I will PM as well.

Probable set-up for the Fresh94.7 Freshtival show at the Gaylord. This is a pic of the stage at a previous event at the Gaylord. It should be a beautiful spot at night with the lights and river in the background. Keeping fingers crossed already for good weather!!

Its worth restating tho' that buying a hotel room gets you FOUR (4) tickets. Which comes out to $63/person for all-day event passes plus a place to sleep if peeps want to share bunking. Or, one can wait for the radio give away tix, which are free day passes. Its just has to do with the level of risk one is willing to deal with.

The best Freddy biographer says his usable range was 3-1/2 octaves -- C#2 - F5 but he could hit an F6. This documented with lot of videos. Here is one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5vTjdOTMGEFreddy and Adam are peerless vocalists and entertainers, but quite different. Freddy was a very accomplished musician and songwriter -- he wrote 10 of 16 songs on Queen's Greatest Hits including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "We Are the Champions" and"Crazy Little Thing Called Love". Just carrying on with this discussion from yesterday, started by adamme I'd say Adam has a good B♭2-B♭5, the G♯2 does sound like a full voice not but it's more of a short ad lib than singing, the B♭2s in Shady are good though cassie, I don't remember saying he went below B♭2 on Trespassing? The lowest I've heard was the Shady B♭2s, but maybe he explores his lower register a bit more in the parts of the album we haven't heard. As for Freddie, the C♯2 is a casually spoken fry note. How anyone could count that towards someone's vocal range is beyond me ??? Freddie's harmony F2s are good, the lead vocal F2 on Don't Try Suicide is a bit forced, but the A2s on I'm Going Slightly Mad are very good. As for the high notes, F5 in full voice, aswell as falsetto up to A5. So it's three octaves for Freddie and three octaves for Adam. But when I listen to Queen, Freddie very rarely sings outside the D3-D5 area. Adam could comfortably cover that range and then some at every GNT show. He won't be singing low harmonies at the Queen shows ;D so he has the range to tackle any Queen song thrown at him imo and that's what matters most Thank for ^^^^ ;D
