So, instead of just staring at the kale in the grocery store today, as usual , I decided to buy it. Came back here to learn it is the curly kind. I have no idea what to do with it. Guess I am going to chop some into salad for tonight. Besides juicing (which, sorry, not gonna happen) what do I do with this stuff??? I love kale. It's my go-to green. Maybe a bit tough raw to go into a salad (although I've had yummy raw kale salad before and it does leave you feeling particularly virtuous and well-scrubbed, lol) but I generally chop it up and throw it into soups, curries, pasta sauces and the like. I make a lovely sweet-potato and kale soup, oooh, and a yummy white bean, kale, and bacon soup too. Mmmmm. Can't wait till I get back home and have my own kitchen again!!! (sorry, Mods, I seem to recall there's a thread for this kind of chatter but I got overexcited by the green stuff ;D. #itsadamsfault )

I use 60% fruits (1 mango, 1 banana, 1 cup blueberries) and 40% dino kale with a cup of water.. you don't really even taste the kale.. a high powered blender gives the smoothie a very smooth, creamy texture and you get all the fiber too. ETA mods feel free to delete if too OT.

It looks like the kind of vegetable we eat around here but we never eat it in salads, as it is not very tasteful. If you want recipes, try grelos on google. By the way, I am finally back after two months, just on time for era 2!! I was preparing project applications day and night (begging for money...) Wish me luck.

I put it in the blender...a big handful of curly kale and a handful of baby spinach, one apple and one orange and a little apple juice to thin it a bit. It makes a pretty green smoothie. (the fruit improves the taste). It's not as much trouble as using a juicer and I don't mind the pulp/fiber.

Can you use frozen fruit if you don't have fresh on hand? I guess you have to add some liquid so it doesn't become a frozen drink?
