Mellie, actually I wonder how Adam would feel if he read something like this? Is he really that "out of control" that "we" need to keep him in check before his album debuts? No, but Adam does have a tendency to self-sabotage himself, especially when he's getting a lot of positive buzz and something big is coming around the corner. Ie, Ring Of Fire right before Top 10/Tour, AMA's right when album drops, Finnish "brawl" right when his highly anticipated single was coming out, etc.,... These things aren't necessarily bad things, but the media does paint them in a certain way that leaves a lasting impression, that also makes potential fans/buyers reluctant or turn away from him.. Just my opinion... but have any of these things negatively impacted Adam or his career? Ring of Fire was perfect and IMO cemented Adam as a frontrunner willing to take chances. I know I've read many who became hardcore stans because of that performance. AMA got adam out into the news cycle. He debuted at #3 on the BB charts with 198K in opening week sales. We will never know if he would've done better or worse than that without the AMAs but just based on the sales of Kris the week prior I personally think the AMAs HELPED Adam not hurt him. The Finland thing did not even cause a ripple IMO. He released his album during the Christmas freeze and still sold 40K opening week without radio. Adam being in the press reminds people he's around and people who weren't going to buy his music in the first place make a lot of noise about how turned off they are but I personally think it's a lot of bullshit designed to make it appear that Adam has lost fans when in fact he hasn't. I posted it to last night's thread after taking care of the kids, then realized it's a dead thread. So, here goes again. :-) Thank you for filling in the blanks, mys*&@^#r50 and heathcliff! I saw Hudson in "Dream Girls" and she was great, but I just couldn't see her selling tons of albums, selling out concerts, not to even mention a world tour of epic proportion. Kinda OT, but Kelly's got a concert date in Phoenix here in August at USairways Center, where the Phoenix Suns plays. However, she is sharing the stage with the Fray, kinda odd, don't you think? I mean, Phoenix is a total Kelly Country! The radio here (all formats) play her songs, past and current, to death! I'm certain she can fill up that place by herself. Kelly just finished a very successful Headline tour for Stronger -- 85% of tickets were sold. The 2012 Summer Tour is larger venues, mostly outdoor amphitheaters and will be very lucrative for both Kelly and The Fray if they sellout. The Phoenix event she could probably fill on her own -- but some of the other venues would be harder. |

@rihanna you just KILLED IT on SNL. That was was such a fierce performance. Flawless! Well Adam is way too kind. I really like Rhianna but that performance was just a hot mess IMHO. It lack the energy she usually brings and they f'ed up the song and choreo. But she looked great and had on the best boots not owned by AFL. |

Hoppers, some glitter for you: Don't know them all; but Amy is Eber's S.O.; Elisse is Neil's girlfriend, Allan worked with AFL in the Zodiac show, and Adam was on stage with him for the "Big Black Man Show" at Burning Man.... As for the others, I'm not sure. The only 'Dusty' I know is Dusty Madrid!! |
