My take on the Perez interview where Adam talks about over-compensating-- maybe he means that he wanted so much to go in the opposite direction from what was "expected" from an American Idol debut album, that he went just a bit OTT (in HIS opinion, certainly not mine). Certainly FYE was eclectic and stylistically diverse. Add to that the cover pic and I think Adam's intention was to say, I am NOT what you might expect. That being said, I think Adam is doing what any artist does. Evaluates past work, figures out what worked and what didn't, what feels right (for him) and what doesn't. This is the way to move forward into the next project. I don't think he "regrets" anything, rather he is looking back with the benefit of experience and time, and seeing things with new perspective. For me, this speaks to his insight and to his commitment to the artistic process. He wants to learn and grow. This is how it's done. NoAngel, what you said here about the "overcompensation" and what Adam meant by that makes a lot of sense -- "I am NOT what you might expect from an Idol alum". I can see him feeling that was an important statement for him to communicate. And your words about Adam and the artistic process are beautifully stated. I think I want to post them somewhere for myself! Didn't mean to make too much about a *hint* of regret that may or may not have been there. <3 aarrgghh...back to RL!! |

I know this is really silly, but is there a picture of Adam and Michelle Collins standing side by side? I don't think she is quite as tall as Adam, but because she is so long waisted, she towers over him when they are sitting down. Are her legs really short or are his legs really long (well...maybe I know that answer.....)? For perspective, though I do not know Michelle personally..... I'm 5'5" and 'sit' as tall as my 6'1" husband. I have wittle stubby wegs and a long torso, hubby has long ass legs and a normal torso.  |

I'm ridiculously excited - it's all really old to most of you but I actually heard WWFM on a local radio station here this evening.
I'd just called at the grocery on the way home from work and whilst standing at the check-out I heard it. Asked the kid behind the counter "Is that the radio?" He said yes (like doh!) and I said I'd been following this singer for 2 years. He said "Adam Lambert?" so I gushed about seeing him in Manchester last year.
I couldn't continue the conversation as there was a big line forming behind me but I was so excited for two reasons - AFL on a local radio station (it wasn't BBC) and someone who knew his name! I wonder if maybe the Grammy nomination has encouraged some stations to play him or if it was just one DJ who really liked him.
Either way, I was inwardly squeeing all the way home!!! - I think a lot of us British fans feel guilty that he hasn't taken off much over here. BUT HE WILL!!!

I remember many years ago when John Wayne and the comedienne Totie Fields were on the Tonight Show. Sitting down, they were about the same height. Standing up, he appeared to be twice as tall as she was! Leg and torso length makes a huge difference! |
