Momtomany, sending you and Penelope lots of love.
My niece was born on the 24th week of my SIL pregnancy she was tiny and very sick. Spent more then 6 months in the hospital. Today she is a healthy 14 year old. Keep your hope up!

Oh momtomany, I'm so sorry. I had no idea; I remember you talking about your first granddaughter being born exactly a year after Lynne's first grandson (both coinciding with the date of Fantasy Springs). I didn't know she was a premie. I'm sending all my love and strength to her tiny body and fully realized soul. They can do so much now. I am confident she's in devoted and benevolent hands. Penelope: Youarebetterer, I'm so glad to hear your grand daughter is doing well.

Oh, momtomany, I'm so very sorry. I can feel your tears through your words, and will look at the stars right now and send my wishes for Penelope's recovery. Me too, so sorry to hear of her struggle.... but sending lots of love to you both ...

gelly said: That is an amazing difference. And it can't be just the lighting, although that can have an affect. Maybe he had treatment in his downtime after the tour finished. I'm so glad that most of the ugly comments about his skin have disappeared. That was something the Haters got a hold of & used at every opportunity.Funny, though, re our the discussion about leaving the Glam behind. NOT. This is probably what was happening when he disappeared for a month. I had a girlfriend who had dermabrasion and acid peel and it was disgusting to look at for awhile (open-sore looking and eventually scabs) but really nice results.

Thanks to all you well wishers for my students. They deserve better. It's so hard for me to fathom what many of my students go through. Before I became a teacher, I was so ignorant of what some kids/people go through. Good night all.

In many African countries these little leather-pouch necklaces are indeed used for protection. In West Africa it's common to find verses from the Quran tucked inside the pouch, and they are often tied on the upper arms of babies and kids. Just jumping in from lurkdom to add that yes, these types of necklaces are sometimes blessed in West Africa and called Gris Gris. Parents get them for their newborn children to ward off evil. I lived in Guinea for a couple of years and all the babies had them. I even brought one back for my nephew (unfortunately, my SIL couldn't get out of her head that it was somehow dirty since I bought it in the open market and never let my nephew wear it). Now back to catching up with the posts.
