Thank you Cassie. Those last two phrases kill me. Every time. The beginning feels so sad and vulnerable, but I can deal with that. Then it gradually builds and when he starts sounding like he's holding back tears, my throat tightens in response and I start to tense up. But I'm still sorta keeping it together. Right up to the final "Welcome to my world of truth". And that's when I lose my shit altogether. Just something about the way he sings those lines and the contrast with what came before. Exactly the way you described it, the open and vulnerable tone. So brave, so honest, so sad, almost like a gentle plea. And it gets me. Every. Single. Time. It hits hard. Every. Time. He's so brave. But I can't fathom how he's going to be able to perform that live... and still continue singing something else... with his heart ripped out and left on the stage... Will be so powerful and gutwrenching. I want it, but I'm not sure I can handle it... My guess.... if he's going to sing it during tour, it'll be right before intermission, i.e. costume change.

Really interesting article from the Village Voice: blogs.villagevoice.com/music/2012/05/adam_lambert_gay_pop_star.php100 & Single: Buy An Adam Lambert Album, Strike A Tiny Blow For Gay Rights About a year ago, the movie Bridesmaids opened in the U.S. and was the subject of a rather unusual awareness campaign. Female movie fans, largely independently of the film's producers, compelled women to go see the film in its opening weekend and defy common Hollywood wisdom that non-rom-com movies aimed at ladies were box-office laggards. To many cultural critics, it was a dubious effort: a Judd Apatow-produced flick that was still, after all, about a wedding—and with one notorious scene riddled with bodily humiliations—this was a feminist cause célèbre? The thing is, it kinda worked. Bridesmaids opened very well for a "chick flick," with $26 million in ticket sales, and went on to gross just shy of $170 million domestically, soundly beating such summer tentpoles as Green Lantern and X-Men: First Class. The fact that the star-free, Kristin Wiig-led movie was actually good suggests it would've found its audience under any circumstances. We'll never know, but given Hollywood's ever-increasing promotional emphasis on opening weekends, it's totally defensible that the impassioned grass-roots launch was critical to the movie's ultimate success. It also sent a consumer-driven message ("This half of the population shouldn't be ignored or pandered to") that should've been screamingly obvious in 2011 but somehow wasn't. One year later, I'd like to invite you to get behind another consumerist message that, in 2012, should be equally uncontroversial: Being openly gay shouldn't prevent you from having a No. 1 album in the United States. The album we can support to send this message is Adam Lambert's second major-label disc Trespassing, which arrives in stores on May 15—virtually one year to the day after the successful Bridesmaids opening. More...

Awww lovely, postfestum. Perfect TY! I sincerely feel that his impact will be felt not only in music scene, but in social and political arenas as well. He IS a trailblazer, he just can't help it. He lives and breathes social change, setting an example by living his life openly, fearlessly, tackling every hurdle as they come along. With such poise and class. I learn from him every day.

I made Shady my ringtone! That funky beginning sounds so perfect! Shady question, it's supposed to be about the night he met Sauli. Do you think he said, "Get your ass down to the front" when he met him at the club?! Lol, ditto! He approached Sauli's cute little ass , and probably just stood in front of him until Sauli completely lost his mind. Both men have killer smiles... they blinded each other Did Adam say it's about that night, or just cruising in general? Sauli already said that Adam approached him and tapped him in the shoulder. Adam said in an interview that it's about cruising for sex in general, then in the InRock Japan he said one of the songs about Sauli is Shady, so who knows? I say let the imagination run WILD!
