DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is excellent, but......................... It makes NO sense that BTIKM has been pulled from most of the radio stations! I wouldn't be surprised if that song sticks around for awhile...radio or no radio. I have great faith in the longevity of BTIKM. I might be alone but I'm still cheering it on!  Can someone educate me about this chart? Is this a sample of few selected countries from Europe, Asia, etc. or an actual inclusive world-wide Top 40 chart? And, how can we find out where the majority of spins come from? 'cuz obviously, ain't from North America... ??? |

I have to agree with you on most of your points, but every attacked minority need to remember not to anatgonize people who may be a little ignorant but want to help and want to understand. Never allow the pain to override things - it's easy but it is the way to nowhere. I know something about it. I learned the hard way I understand that you are trying to help and want to help. The thing you have to understand is that sometimes that help can come over as extremely patronizing to an attacked minority even though you don't mean it to be. In terms of Adam being spoken about as a gay artist, it is very different when it is a mainstream publication such as, say, EW talking about his sexuality over his music and making a big deal out of it. Then by all means point out that it should be all about the music instead of banging on about his sexuality all the time. However when it is a gay publication, or one such as the VV with such a large gay readership, then the connotation of him being spoken about as a gay artist changes entirely. Telling a writer and the readership of any gay or gay friendly publication that him being gay does not matter is tactless and hurtful because in this circumstance and to the gay community it does matter that he is gay. As someone said above, showing support for and being an ally of an attacked minority is a wonderful thing and working alongside the community for equality and setting straight those that spew hate is very much appreciated and the right thing to do. But that is where it should stop to be honest. To put it simply, gay people do not appreciate being told by straight people how they should feel regarding things that involve our community any more than most women appreciate being told how to feel by men about issues pertinent to women. If you are in doubt at all then either don't comment on an article or just say how much you like the music and leave it at that. Shit I should have stayed home from work like I meant to do. I would have gotten so much more out of this discussion than what I got out of work. Sorry for the out of sequence comments. Blech. Going to listen to Shady for the umpteenth time, that will cure all my ills. |

I'm not on twitter but am wondering what Adam's feed is like today. I expect its brimming with positivity and I hope he's taking it all in. He has worked so hard, taken huge risks and stood his ground.
