musicthatgoespop.blogspot.co.nz/2012/05/adam-lambert-trespassing-album-leak.html5.07.2012 Adam Lambert - Trespassing Album Leak + Review!Check out Adam Lambert's Trespassing, out May 15th, here! Buy it when it comes out and the review will be out soon! Adam Lambert's Trespassing is a winner. With a variety of songs as huge as his vocal range, yet feeling at the same time completely cohesive, Lambert's sophomore album is on trend and yet doesn't have an expiration date. The album feels divided into three different kinds of songs, the funky midtempos, the dancey pop, and the emotional honest ballads. The funk radiates from "Shady", "Trespassing", and a few others, being in the lines of Prince. But the real fun hits with the pulsing "Cuckoo", the breezy "Naked Love", and the amazingly campy, dubstep "Pop That Lock"! The rest of the songs are all above par. The singles "Better Than I Know Myself" and "Never Close Our Eyes" are great, but don't truly capture the essence that is the album. Throughout all the songs there is traces of dubstep that keep it cohesive. The album really shows Adam's range and the way he has grown. Although he has left the rock hits like "Aftermath" behind, he's grown into his camp and kept it on trend! I think the single choices haven't always been the best, but there is something for everyone in this unfortunately delayed album, but it was well worth the wait! Check out: "Cuckoo", "Naked Love", "Pop that Lock", "Runnin'"

Happiest of birthdays, ladies!
One thing we are not likely to hear in reviews is sophomore slump, 2nd album disappoints, etc. No BS in Adam's bag!
Adam is full out "Continuum Man"! Just like he has such a great tonal range, he has a great emotional, witty, fun range as well as the ability to SHARE it. Thank goodness, his early vocal teacher, Lynn Broyles, said, "Yes," when Adam asked her if he could "just sing his emotions."
Adam also has the sensibility of the ALBUM as a story. I'm glad to see a couple of reviews mention cohesive, and I'd add that the album has a cohesive arc.

Flecking Records @fleckingrecords Happy @adamlambert Day! A tribute to the man - bit.ly/IMdFmXHappy Adam Lambert Day! A tribute to the manPosted 8th May, 2012 by Frankie Genchi (BTIK video) Today, May 8th, is Adam Lambert Day. It’s a day where we should all take a moment to celebrate the super-sexy singer and everything he stands for. It was back in 2009 when San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders proclaimed May 8th Adam Lambert Day, saying: “Anyone who would sing Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and get a standing ovation is my kind of guy.” Adam isn’t just a ridiculously talented singer – he’s a sex symbol, a fashion icon, a role model, a philanthropist… the list goes on. more...

RUNNIN!!!--What an overwhelmingly pleasant surprise!! Has any other artist ever released a bonus track as a single? It would be such a shame for the general public to not hear this song! I think it is great single material. Why was it relegated to a bonus track? Thoughts anyone?

To quote that silver-tongued statesman, Randy Jackson, "I've said it before and I'll say it again," ANIMATED I love your art.
As a life-long book person, I envision a coffee-table book with your art, Adam's lyrics, Lee Cherry's photos and a sound button on each page that triggers Bose quality digital renditions of his songs. Hmm, maybe we need a digital book, but I'd love to touch it because Adam is such a visceral performer.
ETA:by IT, I mean I'd love to touch the pages of the book, people. (This is of special note to anjalee who has admitted that she has a dirty mind, that knows "rockbottomedness," my new favorite word!)

RUNNIN!!!--What an overwhelmingly pleasant surprise!! Has any other artist ever released a bonus track as a single? It would be such a shame for the general public to not hear this song! I think it is great single material. Why was it relegated to a bonus track? Thoughts anyone? Because of the music genre. The album is mostly dance, electronic, funk, or new-wavey, and atmospheric. Runnin, while sounding a bit tribal, and while not quite lite rock as in Take Back, it is more in the pop-rock vein, and it is a glaring difference to the rest of the songs that made it into the standard part of the album. It would have made the album not as cohesive, imo. But after saying that, I do love the song. It's kind of my favorite, in a 14-way tie ;D
