One of 3 However, I may cave. Not for me, but my daughter has been proudly telling everyone that her two favorite singers are Adam and Adele. Since she's figured out how to work the CD player (sorta, she's not gentle with CDs), she's getting her own version of Trespassing (and I'm embarassed to say that I hope that there really is a "clean-er" version being sold at Wal-Mart b/c I'm already getting the "bad Mom" look from other parents when she sings the lyrics). I may also get her Adele's 21 because she already knows a lot of the songs from the radio. At least the kid has good taste in singers. And it sure beats listening to "Yo Gabba Gabba" songs ;D There are 330 million people in the US. A lot of us have not bought Adele's album. Including me. What is scary about this is that this could mean 21's impressive numbers could go on and on and......

What is ETalk? Eileen t(-_-t) @trespassmyass ETALK JUST TALKED ABOUT ADAM, SAYING "Kris Allen who? Was overshadowed by Adam Lambert" then they talked about his album \O/ ETALK is a Canadian entertainment TV show. That's good because so far Adam has had zero promotion for the album in Canada. Just watched Chelsea show....9pm my time....played it back a few times 'cause Adam is darn cute in the interview. Have to say I am true fan of this look for Adam. For those watching who may not know him well.... fresh and handsome, well spoken, engaging smile/personality. YES!!!Based on the first part of the show I was gulping wondering about how she would approach/question, Adam. I have to say ... it was a good interview in that Adam talked about what he wanted to talk about...A few fun things for sure... but all in all... I was almost shocked at how cool the interview was. Who are the 1 million who watch this show? Not my cuppa. Last time Adam was on with her, the show got super high ratings. Magnet!! Hope so again. Now back to catch up a bit on the thread as it was a busy day today.

I haven't bought Adele's album either. I,also, have not bought Adele's album. I am so sick of Rolling in the deep. I like Someone like you and Set fire to the rain. I hear these enough on radio, but none of these songs relate to my personal experience. They are good music. #I don't cry and whine. If a man is not what I expect him to be, I am more likely to say F'em and move on.

Count me as another one who hasn't bought Adele's album. I must be immune to her charm. I admit I've liked two of the songs i've heard. But when you can hear them by just turning on the radio, why buy?
Anyway, I do think it is interesting that someone said that the Idols typically have a shelf life of three years. Interesting because the second album is usually not released until about three years after the first. After three years of no new music, interest dies. That is no way to run a pop star career. Most pop stars today release an album at least every two years, and sometimes one a year. Even between albums pop stars today typically release singles, or "feature"/"colab" on another performer's work. Bruno won't wait three years between albums. But even if he does, he is out there guesting on somebody's new single about every month.
So to me the problem is that Idols really do not have the kind of management/career direction that is needed in today's music business.

Very good points - or perhaps the record companies see them as disposable, since they know they will be getting a fresh 'crop' of idols each year ?

Not a Chelsea fan, but anything for Adam. And it was so worth it. He was gorgeous and happy and gorgeous and articulate and gorgeous. Oh yeah - and he was incredible and gorgeous.

Just got home and I want to say thanks for posting the Chelsey Lately/Adam video. He looked great and seemed so happy. Cute interview...actually it was better than I thought it would be. I thought she'd play up the gay angle even more. Adam handle her very well. I think she likes Adam and appreciates that he's just a pretty normal guy she can relate to and not a 'persona' like GaGa.
Wow! Sad news about David Cook being released by RCA. The music industry is a tough tough business.
Is anyone else getting the angry bear thingy. I've had it since yesterday. It takes three tries before my comments will post. :-/
