This is why Adam is so important as a person, as a role model and as an artist. This woman spoke at a recent Lincoln, Nebraska City Council meeting meeting--she is nuts! However, the best entertainment is looking at the reactions of the guy seated in back of her. youtu.be/nMANMIe0ZZISorry, can't get my embed link to work right now. Hey come on, she is having a "good time"! Why, why on earth would they let her speak! The other people either are not listening or they are so dumbfounded they can't move! Brilliant fodder for at least a decade of SNL skits. |

My Best Buy order for the Deluxe Editions have shipped! Now all of my orders are on the way!  I'm still tempted to go to Wal-mart very early Tuesday morning if I don't have the Adam Official CD's in my hands by then since I doubt the Best Buy CD's will make it here that fast. I just got my email too!! Yay!! |

Chelsea's type of humor includes saying all the worst and most inappropriate, politically incorrect things. That is what she does. Anyone going on her show is aware of this. She will always talk about Adam being gay. Tone, context, national sense of humor (British vs. US), individual writer's/presenters history, LGBT vs. mainstream media all of these things make a BIG difference. Gay can be Yay!, or Okay or No way when it is referred to with relation to Adam in the media. In the Pridesource interview that came out today this is what Adam had to say: You've spoken with gay publications and mainstream publications. How is it different talking to each?
I try not to make it any different. That's been one of my big goals, especially with this album. This time around I'm trying to just adopt a post-gay mentality about it because I'm so proud of who I am and I'm 100 percent positive about it and I celebrate it, but I also think it's a bit dated to harp on it and to lean on it and to constantly be defined by your sexuality. I think that gay men and women who live their lives as gay men and woman understand that and understand that it's just another part of who they are. Unfortunately, with some mainstream publications, it's such a novelty for them to be able to talk about it. It's such a hot-button issue that it becomes the focus of a lot of discussion.
Does that bother you?
(Hesitates) It gets a bit redundant. (Laughs.) Gets a little old. It's something I've made peace with; I'm trying to just look at it from the other point of view and realize that a lot of the questions are legitimate for someone who doesn't understand. I think the way to progress and confront ignorance is information. You start talking about things and we get past them. So yeah, it gets a bit redundant, but I feel like at this point it just comes with the territory that I'm trespassing on.Yes, Chelsea enables the interviewee to respond to collective ignorance on air by being the voice of stupid, stereotyping, obnoxious ignorance. Adam responded beautifully, elegantly, and without hitch. He laughs. Things like this help our society evolve. Comedy is paramount to social change. |
