Adam Lambert @adamlambert However, to clarify my quote bout the radio station visits. 'f'd up retail' part ain't meeting fans, it's selling myself to the stations. And that 's what I said from the very beginning. That he was talking about selling his music to to the stations. I actually thought that the 'f'd up retail' meant that he has to sell himself. The same way at Macy's he had to be the 'best friend', sell himself first. In both cases he surely would prefer to sell the product. Even though the selling now is directly connected to his music, it must be very tiresome to engage his persona and private life in the process that much. Even more so when dealing with radio that is doing its business playing music. He must feel that it should be about the music, is it good? (ref. to the question about his range when he said that most important is 'does it sound good') The Rolling Stone interview was done before his radio promo tour and his musings were probably based on his experiences last time. I have watched quite a lot of videos that are still up from that time and it left me with an impression that there was practically no talk about the music. He was asked, surely ad nauseum, which brand of eyeliner he uses, does he do his make up or hair himself, how long does it take, to give make up tips, to do make up to the interviewer etc. - not even going to the gay questions. That must have felt humiliating and useless when he wanted to sell the music. Thinking that he has to do all that again for a month must have had an influence to his comment. I am very glad that this time around the radion station interviews were more sensible. Of course the personal engagement cannot, nor should it be avoided altogether, but at least the part that we could see and hear was better. The radio politics which we know almost nothing of, is another story, but certainly background to his comment too. Finally, I think that selling his music was not the concern and even less the performing and fan part of the promo. ETA Yes, you were quite right, gelly, pointing out when the discussion was going on that Adam's comment was not about the fans and not to be upset.

Initially I did find the comment off putting, but I figured it was out of context. Usually if someone is an extrovert and a people person, even in difficult situations (like numerous Meet and greets) the extrovert usually enjoys themselves on some level. So, yeah I was assuming that it wasn't necessarily all of the fan interaction.

Yes I agree selling himself in order to sell his music. And your whole post was beautiful.

Hey fellow Finns, remember to request! How about we all vote for NCOE at www.nrj.fi/top10Yes, it is now on the list! And when you are at it, please pick another station too and use your voice. ETA The top 10 broadcast starts at 18.00. Done. Sauli's new blog was great! (my head started spinning from just thinking about those rollercoasters he talked about ;D) and then he mentioned something about surprises... (again)... do you think he's coming to Finland to shoot few Tutka's with Katri? :D Maybe Katri is going to LA???

[/img] Robin Roberts from ABC News reported last Wednesday that Obama affirmed the legalization of marriage between same sex couples. The statement became hot news over social networking sites in minutes. It was followed with celebrities reacting positively to it with former 'American Idol' contestant, Adam Lambert, expressing his thoughts over Twitter. There were reportedly 1500 complaints to ABC regarding Adam's performance on the AMAs in 2009. Well, at this time, the little "review" in EW online has garnered 1229 comments, almost all of them protesting the insulting "gay" comments. That is only the online comments, not the emails or letters to the editor. Yet, I have seen no reporting of this article and the furor it has caused. And no response from EW. I don't necessarily want this to get huge press coverage. Best to just express our opinions and let it go. But, part of me is irked by this double standard. If you know what I mean. The best we can do is not buy their magazine... boycott

The first link from Finland was posted already but there is more to it... What had a lollipop to do with Sauli and Adam meeting each other? (Iltalehti.fi May 9, 2012) www.iltalehti.fi/viihde/2012050915550779_vi.shtmlReferring to RS interview, first meeting w/the lollipop and description of Sauli being hot, Adam's wild days are over, healthier life style. The story was embellished with a graphic enhancement in their latest entertainment news section, LOL! static.iltalehti.fi/viihde/tikkari_vaaka090512PP_503_vi.jpgAnother story a little later... The wild years of Adam Lambert - Sex with a woman (Iltalehti.fi May 9, 2012) www.iltalehti.fi/viihde/2012050915553370_vi.shtmlAgain from the RS interview, in short: Wild before meeting his siippa, single 25-28 yrs old, no dates, sex with a woman, personal, no details, try everything, met Sauli, moved forward. A touching note by Adam Lambert to his beloved Sauli (MTV3 Viihde, Finnish tv channel's website, May 11, 2012) www.mtv3.fi/viihde/uutiset/musiikki.shtml/1545283/adam-lambertilta-koskettava-kirjoitus-sauli-rakkaalleFrom the Trespassing liner notes, in short: proclaims his love to S in thank you part of his new album, released the coming week, quote of the note to Sauli starting with friend, love, light... They continue: Lambert's album, Trespassing, includes several songs that may tell about the relationship between the singer and Koskinen. Lambert has revealed having wrote the song Broken English on the album about a couple who don't have the same mother tongue. Also the first single Better Than I Know Myself was in the headlines due to its lyrics. In that song Lambert sings about his ardent love amidst uncertainty. They finish with mentioning the album and its drop date. Oh, the lollipop story also made entertainment news on Radio Aalto on May 9, there is a podcast of the news on their site (click programmes, afternoon, Ellen if interested) which I came across yesterday when checking info for request post.
