Regarding spoilers/no-spoilers. I prefer anticipation to surprise any day of the week. I love the build of anticipation and surprise hits you out of left field and it's often hard to process, then the moment is over. Years ago I was thrown a surprise party for my birthday, which was awesome and fun, but truth be told, I was totally disappointed that the "fake" plans we made for that night were just the ruse. I was REALLY looking forward to them. I do not even get people who don't find out the sex of their babies beforehand. All three of my nephews were named the day of their ultrasounds. The experience of "knowing" them before their were born was lovely. (Yes, I know there are still surprises, one of my best friends was assured her second son was a girl and it involved some decor exchanges.) Surprise to me is closer to blind-siding. Some are fun, but in general, I could take it or leave it. Anticipation is half the fun!! OMG! You are me. I have never really thought it through but this is exactly how I feel about surprise and anticipation.

Nobody has commented on the Nikka Costa ChingChingChing vid.....so I just want to put this out there.... To me this is a Katy Perry kind of thing...quick buck...anyone can do it kind of thing. I suspect it has its tongue firmly placed in its cheek...given the lyrics. I have to assume they are parody...if not, WTF is that? Am I missing something here? She sings in the bridge which suggests to me she knows exactly what she is doing...but will everyone?
Maybe I am just 'off' today....and should just STFU....??
PS...is this really what we want Adam to try??

I am very happy and impressed with 3k sales for 5 song EP. These had to have been all new fans so even better.

Some are fun, but in general, I could take it or leave it. Anticipation is half the fun!! Susie, I hate surprise parties. For my 40th birthday, my son planned a surprise luncheon for me. And it was held at OUR house Needless to say, my idea of party clean and his were two entirely different things. At the time, I was taking care of my dad who was very ill. He had moved in here and it was pretty chaotic. I looked a mess. Afterwards, I asked one of my best friends why she didn't warn me and she said, I did, I suggested you clean your house. ;D It really was sweet of him, trying to do something nice for me when life wasn't being so nice. He was 14 at the time. What a sweet kid , and lucky you. At 14 you don't pay attention to unimportant things like cleaning :D, and it would have "spoiled" his surprise if he would have been cleaning some extra. You would probably have noticed that something special was on the air. It's the thougth that counts most, and it was lovely :D.

I'm sure, though, in the back of her mind, she is thinking, "Maybe this is the song radio might actually play." She is incredible but radio doesn't give her a chance. Katy Perry? Radio plays Katy Perry. Go to You Tube and watch some of Nikka's live performances. She combines Pop and Soul and is amazing. I would LOVE a duet with her and Adam. She puts on a great show too. Checkout her last appearance at The Roxy in LA. (Adam's BOA Steakhouse night, then Nikka concert.)

But right there in the chorus she says "Revolutionary mediocrity" -- so she knows what she's doing. So an attempt to go commercial while lampooning the genre at the same time? I wish her success because she's talented and deserves it, but kinda hope it's not with THIS soul-less track. And this is the one Adam tweeted about.

Thanks mys*&@^#r....that is what I first assumed...but then started rethinking.... really.... what if this is a hit?? Then what does she do? This could be one of those "be careful of what you ask for" things..... Oh well...I will go back to assessing the earthquake/tsumami risks of living in the Southern Gulf Islands..... :-/

She's doing 3 nights in a row there (all sold out.) A California Girl, doing a California Dreams Tour in a So CA venue should be a load of fun! I am going with my daughter. I don't expect to be moved to tears during any part of the performance or to be mesmerized by anything. I do expect to have a Hella Lot of Fun though! ;D
