My sister, who is not necessarily an Adam Lambert fan, just heard the beginning of Trespassing (CD). She heard the first four tracks and said she liked it. "It was much happier sounding than I thought it would be." I am wondering if this is due to the singles that have been put out WWFM, BTIKM and NCOE. I thought this was a funny comment from her, but now I wonder how many people think most of his music is not happy music. I know IIHY and FYE were singles too, but I doubt they were heard by many people.
Interesting point plus his most famous performance from Idol was Mad World emo-style.
ETA: bridgeymah, I think I had the same prof!! But I have actually learned a bit from Adam that if layered -- more can be more.  It is a novel concept for me since I was a designer when Helvetica ruled and minimalism was considered elegant.

Everyone I play Runnin and Trespassing for say they are going to buy the album and hope both of those are singles. Since it's difficult to pick a single that's representative of his album, why not go with the title track to keep it on people's minds? Followed by Runnin' which everyone seems to love. Water under the proverbial bridge, but I truly think they are going for album sales, not just single sales for Adam. Why not? The album is a powerful piece of work. I'm sorry but, how can you go for album sales if people think the album is BTIKM and NCOE type songs. I agree Tresspassing followed by Running or Cuckoo would have been more appropriate. DJ's and the PD's are jerks, because if you listen to Top 40, the interesting, different sounding songs are doing well. The general public doesn't follow Adam like we do and Know every nuance and intent of the songs, so they are gonna judge the album on BTIKM and NCOE, what they are hearing/or not hearing on the radio. To me, as I said earlier he is not a Rhianna or Bruno, where if the songs are even mediocre and not well accepted, a new one will be put out and they keep getting played because the PD's know one will stick eventually. We're hear it before where DJ's have said e.g. The lazy song by Bruno, despite it is so totally lame, it got played because it's Bruno. In the case of Adam, if NCOE doesn't do well or get played, there may not be further singles. (MHO). |

This will be a fun show for Adam...Andy Cohen is the host and only has 2 guests who are both there for the whole half hour. (they also do an online after show). They play silly 'games' but it'll be fun to see Adam play Plead the Fifth where Andy asks 3 questions and he can only refuse to answer 1 of them. They take viewer questions live as the show is on. It will show Adams personality and maybe introduce him to a new audience.
