All of the following is in Type 3:
I was using Palitino Linotype, not Palitino. Different font.I think Palitino Linotype must default to Palitino on some computers.
These should be different:
Palitino
Palitino Linotype
I have switched to Courier New which is on all computers to eliminate any issue.
To help me debug, JustKaren -- do you have Palinto and Palitino Linotype on your computer? No, I only have plain Palatino on my computer, not the Linotype one, and both of those look the same to me. Q3, , I'm really not trying to be difficult here, but Courier really isn't any better :( ... it is still a serif font, and to make matters worse it is a monospace font, still hard on the eyes. Isn't Verdana available on most computers these days?

Hmm. Maybe it's because I'm not a Mom (except to furry creatures) but my feelings toward Adam are not exactly maternal...But he can sure "come to Momma!" I love your post!!!

I'm going to have to agree with Just Karen here. I'm a font junkie (have done graphic design and improvised with digital typesetting for 20 years) and tend to like serif fonts in print. But hell, if the san serif aren't MUCH easier to read on screen since I've been trying to catch up through the last several pages!!
I realized I began to get a little frustrated when I'd see another serif post because they are harder on the eyes and I don't usually suffer from eye strain at all. I do like to read quickly and find the serif fonts, whether Courier, Times or Palladino aren't nearly as scannable as the san serif fonts are.
I'm sticking with the Verdana, except when using for emphasis.
Glad Adam is already in New York and getting his shopping-bert on!!!
BTW: As a rule, most publications I have worked or freelanced for tend to proofread all work before going to layout in san serif fonts because they are much easier to read and therefore it's easier to catch mistakes. I had to get used to it at first, but now I can totally see why.
