Q3, I think we are going to just have to agree to disagree on a few of these issues. Basically, Adam has a cred issue within radio (but certainly not within the music industry as a whole where he has a Grammy nom and a bunch of respect) due to the fact that he came off American Idol, and I believe he and his team are actively trying to overcome this. Bottom line, we all want the same things for Adam. To increase his fan base, sell albums, and continue with a major label; oh, and to continue to get those "perks" like awards shows and TV that the big artists get. And Adam doesn't need a #1 hit single. I don't think anyone is asking for that. He just needs a single that charts well enough on CHR to sell a bunch of copies and make an impact.

The PDs poke fun at his fans because this is what they do to all the male Idol alums, even those that aren't gay. This type of reputation has followed the Idol males for 9+ years. Fair enough but after 9+ years I think it's time to stop worrying about what they say and just enjoy the music. Daughtry is part of a band. That's the difference and he sounds like Nickleback, one of the most played bands on radio. As for having enough out of the bubble fans, I'm not so sure that's true if we're basing it on his current sales which are pretty lackluster for this current album. What is the solution then? Can't unring the idol bell and were it not for Idol Adam wouldn't have those international fans even if they didn't discovery him thru the show. The show is what put him out there for people to be interested in. I maintain that based on the multiple concerts I go to every year Adam's fanbase does not skew that much differently than other artists' fanbases and IF radio uses the fan ages to not play him it's just an excuse. Sure, stop worrying about what they say and enjoy the music, but then we can't complain when radio doesn't play his music. Also, when he doesn't get invited to radio shows at all like the ones he is doing now, or he doesn't get invited to perform on Award shows or SNL, etc. It's all inter-related to radio and sales and the perceptions of who are the up and coming artists. Also, when the sales slide, so do the budgets for all the "nice things" that Adam enjoys at this time. Daughtry is Chris Daughtry. You could interchange any of those band members out (which he has done) and no one would notice. Chris broke out of the bubble because he had several top 5 mega hits on Pop radio. It was the right sound at the right time. His type of music isn't popular on CHR anymore but he did manage to get a song in the top 3 on HAC this album cycle and he currently has one at #30. What is the solution? Radio hits...or moving to Europe! She had several Top 5 or Top 10 CHR radio hits before that. There are only a few #1s every year, but artists who have several top 10 CHR hits per album cycle are still considered VERY successful in the Pop world. It would be beyond amazing if Adam could have the amount of success Kelly had the first seven years of her career! Enough of this discussion. I'm going to start deleting! You have been warned.

OMG! My computer just crashed. Got message about it dumping files. I THINK I have it restored now. Crossing fingers, toes and eyes. I am posting from my iPad while I do a file backup on my laptop. What has this to do with Adam? ALL MY FILES, MUSIC, PICS, ADAM GOODNESS IS ON MY COMPUTER. When was the last time I backed any of it up? A year ago? This is a reminder to all readers, especially computer illiterates like me, to back up your files today. And on a regularly scheduled basis more often than yearly. Sending out positive vibes to the universe for you cassie that all will be restored. I finally signed up for a nightly backup run. The annual fee is pretty small, considering what could be lost. Agree with your recommendation to back up regularly.

The most visible and vocal fans are the 25-50 crowd but I think there's enough photographic evidence that Adam appeals to younger fans too. But I do agree that Adam needs to expand his fanbase if he wants to conquer pop radio in a significant way. Fantasia and Ruben are successful within their genre, which is R&B. Actually according to Billboard Kelly has had a string of Pop song #1 hits starting with her first single Miss Independent off her debut album Thankful. It hit #1 on the Pop charts on June 28, 2003. It spent 7 weeks at #1. Her Second album, Breakaway spawned 2 #1 Pop hits - SUBG and Because of You. In addition to those #1 songs Kelly has 7 top 10 hits on Pop. I think you might be confusing Pop charts with Hot 100 charts and even then Kelly hit #1 on the Hot 100 with A Moment Like this and then did it again in 09 with My Life Would Suck and this year with Stronger. Kelly is the most successful idol in all areas, radio, sales and world tours. I wish for Adam to have that same kind of success because he's equally as talented and charming as Miss Clarkson. Enough of this discussion. I'm going to start deleting! You have been warned.been warned.[/color]

Please oh please if he's performing at RAH he's just gotta do Underneath or Soaked. I know I know gotta promote the single but it's one of the best halls in the world for singers... #justsayin #showoffthevoice #dammit Outlaws of Love was my first thought. But yes, a song where his vocals will soar to heaven, jezz I am in happy tears just thinking about it. He will leave US soil struggling to get radio play and come back in the upper tier of world stars by the time summer is over. This and Queen and all the other events we may not even know about yet plus all the promo yet to go in the US, his space ship is in hyper-warp. I just!!!!!!!!!!! ;D :D Singing in Royal Albert Hall really, REALLY means A LOT. You won't see LMFAO performing there, for sure. It has a certain weight and Adam should be very proud to be given this opportunity. Since its opening by Queen Victoria in 1871, the world's leading artists from several performance genres have appeared on its stage and it has become one of the UK's most treasured and distinctive buildings. Each year it hosts more than 350 events including classical concerts, rock and pop, ballet and opera, sports, award ceremonies, school and community events, charity performances and banquets.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Albert_HallI think the choice of song(s) will be determined by the event ( which is Charity) and the general tone agreed upon by others ( event's music director?) Whatever the case, it's a HUGE HONOUR. I'm so happy and proud.
