I also wish that everyone posting here would own their opinion (me included) when making pronouncements on his outfits, popularity, djs etc...by saying IMO. I think it would feel more polite and less disrespectful (IMO)  - this is my opinion only and not meant to tell others how to post. Thank you. :

I can't remember how it works; will we get another sales update today, or could this be it until tomorrow? I agree with those saying it must be Walmart (and, maybe, Amazon?) reporting. HDD is generally very accurate, so no need to worry at this point.

You have to understand the way this works. When it says 37% in that means that 37% of their surveyed retailers have reported. There is no way of knowing which retailers they are. Because Carrie and Adele and that compilation are so high up, I am going to guess that i-Tunes, Amazon, B&N, and AO have not reported yet. Also, I'll bet Target hasn't either. By those Top 3, right now, this may be mostly Walmart sales. Okaaaaaaay. You're right, I have no idea how this works. Lemme know when he's higher up on the list. Cuz I'm not gonna look again!  In actuality I don't know why they even bother with these interim reports because since you don't know which retailers have reported you can't really speculate about the final numbers. Sort of like very early election reporting where if all the early reporters are from one candidates strongholds the race can look like it is going for one person then all of a sudden when the other guys strongholds report in you get a flip result. The numbers may be meaningful to those who know which retailers reported but the info they publish isn't enough to make reasonable assumptions. |

Actually according to Billboard Kelly has had a string of Pop song #1 hits starting with her first single Miss Independent off her debut album Thankful. It hit #1 on the Pop charts on June 28, 2003. It spent 7 weeks at #1. Her Second album, Breakaway spawned 2 #1 Pop hits - SUBG and Because of You. In addition to those #1 songs Kelly has 7 top 10 hits on Pop. I think you might be confusing Pop charts with Hot 100 charts and even then Kelly hit #1 on the Hot 100 with A Moment Like this and then did it again in 09 with My Life Would Suck and this year with Stronger. Kelly is the most successful idol in all areas, radio, sales and world tours. I wish for Adam to have that same kind of success because he's equally as talented and charming as Miss Clarkson.
We are not going to discuss who is the most successful Idol artist on this site.Merely to clarify this difference between the two Billboard charts -- #1 HIT is Billboard Hot 100. Kelly has three. The first one is the 2002 Coronation song which was based on sales, not radio airplay. The other two were based on balance performance including airplay. The Billboard Hot 100 is a composite chart with currently is composed of digital sales + radio airplay (all formats) + streaming media play. The Pop Songs charts is currently a measurement of Mainstream Top 40 Stations as classified by Nielsen BDS. Kelly has 4 songs that were #1 on Pop Radio but only one also reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Either way you want to count a "#1 Pop Hit" -- Kelly has 2 to 4. Since You've Been Gone peaked at #4 Hot 100, #1 Pop Songs Miss Independent peaked at #16 Hot 100, #1 Pop Songs Breakaway peaked at #6 Hot 100, #1 Pop Songs Because of You peaked at #9/#7 Hot 100, #1 Pop Songs* There are three Hot 100 #1's but only Stronger was also #1 on Billboard Pop Songs chart.
