Wow, thank you for pointing that out. It's one of the most insidious Adam-bashing sites around ... with over 2,000 posts. I just did my good deed. I would like to get on board for helping remove abusive comments. Could you give a kind of step by step for finding and reporting these comments so they hopefully will be removed? Go to the website: www.amazon.com/The-epic-thread-/forum/Fx3PQBTIY71BJY5/Tx1P193DSB6YVQO/1/ref=cm_cd_pg_oldest?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B005OUE53Y&cdSort=newestOn the right hand side, under RSS Feed, is 'report abuse' click it. Then the next screen that comes up, click 'Report as Inappropriate' If they ask for your email address ... just fill out the form. They'll just thank you ... and won't ask any questions.

This thread refers to the DARK SIDE so I'm gonna write something about that of mine. I hope that this is the right thread for such a confession. I just wanted to put down my feelings which accompanied me for the last three weeks. I think they belong to the Dark Side of my personality because the things I'm going through now are really really ugly. Before the release of TP Adam had said everybody has his own demons. Tbh That time I had no idea what exactly he was talking about but I have already found it out. I just wanna say that experiencing all of that Adam's music helped me to go through the very bad period of my life and to cope with my DARK SIDE / the failure, nervosity, inability to find a peace . Music is definitely the best medicine for me. Thank you Adam. ame - great to hear that Adam and his positive energy are helping you to cope! He is magical this way...isn't he? Hang in there! Everything will be ok!

No to harsh anyone's high in the news thread but just have to come here and say that while I know people are seeing ONLY upside to Adam getting an AI desk job, there are plenty of downsides. Here is just one...
With Mariah's huge paycheck if Adam gets the job he will probably be marked as the "cheap" judge they had to choose because they couldn't afford any other big stars. Yep that's what you want to be known as.
There are lots of other reasons this isn't such a great move for him, and specifically for HIM. The dynamics that make the job work for others are completely different for him. If it was a judge job on Xfactor or Voice or even a mentoring job on Voice I'd be all over it as a great thing, but AI is a different beast for Adam specifically because he is an alumni... but I am a fairly lonely voice in the wilderness on this one so hopefully is ok that I post this here in the dark side.
Scroll and carry on. LOL

Who is this Tracy Jacks person? I've been through two pages, reported abuse, but it's only her and icecube. Mostly her. I expected more variety, but it's this one lonesome hater.

Ideally I would agree that Idol is not the best gig for Adam for the reason stated, but his sales are poor, and sales support all the things we want for him from a tour to another album. Without sales a tour might not happen, and possibly trespassing could be his last album on a major label. The lack of radio support drove a stake into the heart of this era, and about the only thing that could salvage it is something high profile like Idol. I am asking the universe that Adam seems to believe in to let this happen for him because IMO he really, really needs it. Very tense time to be a fan with this up in the air.

eep. The angsting on the main thread is freaking me out. I have enough stress in my life, lol. Does it help anyone's processing of who Brad Paisley is to know that he phone-banked for Obama alongside us "regular folk" at the Democratic Headquarters in downtown Nashville in 2008? Just sayin' that he's pretty well known as a liberal, even if he doesn't overtly discuss his politics.
So, IOW, we don't have to worry about him being another Tobey Keith.
As far as Idol, I was just at a place where I could see how happy AL was with his life and career and stopped agonizing a few months ago about sales (I know, reality check, sales = more options to continue in career). And now the AI stuff. ugh. I kinda wished I never heard the rumor, cuz I wouldn't be wrapped up in it, one way or the other. But I just think AL is more realistic about where he is in the pop culture scene and his fans (I'm guilty of it too) inflate his standing because we want the best for him. (And don't ask me why I care whether this pop singer is happy; that's a whole 'nother dissertation!)

(And don't ask me why I care whether this pop singer is happy; that's a whole 'nother dissertation!) I am always entertained when people seem to project their expectations onto Adam. IMO he's pretty realistic and understands that this is the beginning not the end. His management team have outright said they are building a new artist (forget AI which is major reason why I don't see them advising him to do it even if its on the table). His label seems to be supportive of him, but even if they weren't he has a stable and committed fan base who would provide him with a very nice income from anything he might choose to put out on his own... The sky WILL NOT fall if he doesn't get AI (and don't let me get started on the litany of reasons he shouldn't do it even if it is an option). He will not shrink into obscurity - because well he's Adam and obscurity doesn't seem to be something he does. Sigh - I'm quite liking the dark side. My new favorite place.

Well, I am glad people are clearing things up regarding Brad Paisley. I am not a country fan, but I know enough about him to know that he is pretty liberal leaning, as is his wife.
Yes there are cons to the Idol gig. It isn't perfect. But, right now Adam has nothing else pushing him forward. Queen couldn't do it, his new album couldn't do it. His singles have gone nowhere. How does RCA "break" an artist without the help of radio? They need something to work with, something to bring some mainstream exposure. And of course people in the Idol bubble are going to try to diminish it---that's what they do.
If I am being honest, I am a little worried. Forget about singles, Adam isn't going to get another album unless they figure out some way to sell it. Maybe AI can be a way to break through. My guess is Adam's team would be willing to give it a try. What could it possibly hurt at this point?

Adam knows he needs sales to have the kind of career he dreams of which is why he encouraged his fans to buy CDs at the CM concert. To me, the importance of sale cannot be overstated. In addition Adam is 30 he doesn't have the time of say Jordin Sparks to build a career. He needs something that will give him a massive boost in his exposure like AI. I am not projecting my expectations on on Adam, but rather want him to become what he wants to be namely a big pop star, and for that he needs to move huge numbers of CD and singles. He could still make a good living touring in smallish venues for his loyal fans, one off with Queen etc. and since he has by reports a very sunny disposition he would be happy, but I think he wants to be a star, and he is so talented and unique he should be. I can't imagine RCA not being thrilled if he lands the Idol gig.
