Thank you, Swarm, for taking the time to respond to me. I think I reacted so strongly to your posts because it seemed to me that assumptions were made about ATOP members as a whole based upon a few posts with which you disagreed. I do understand that you can only respond to what has been shared, so it is difficult to know who else might be reading. I know that I can only speak for myself, but I have been a member of this community for three years and have come to know people here quite well (at least as much as daily written interaction allows). I feel strangely protective of the people here. I will probably never understand why I have become so attached to this board and its members. I think I just needed to let you know that this community is full of open-minded and kind-hearted people who want the best for Adam and each other. Please continue to share your perspective with us.

Swarm, way back when Adam did that awesome Slezak interview (he was just off Idol) he thanked Idology for "taking the piss out of me," and said--with a smile--"I'm kind of ridiculous." He simply doesn't take himself too seriously and understands that not everyone is going to "get" him or be into what he is doing.

Why do I have to log in every time I come here? Just have time for one comment - I too love swarm's posts! Loving the posts doesn't mean one has to agree with every single point. The diversity here is what makes this board interesting to me. In fact I'd like more of it.

I can't help but be very, very disappointed about the fact that one of the Jonas Brothers seems to be on board for Idol judge. I really think that Adam needed Idol to save this era. We are getting a new single, but it will probably just bring more heartbreak with endless rounds of voting and requests that will go nowhere. Without a successful single this era is dead. A full blown tour probably wont happen for an album that sold less than 200,000,and another album is could be unlikely. The exposure from Idol was big enough drive sales and make radio notice. Nothing I can think of available to Adam, could have anywhere near of the impact Idol could have. I fear that this wonderful, delightful album is done. I know Adam will still have a life in music, Broadway, Queen concerts, Vegas one off for hard core fans etc, but I can't see how he will become a pop star on this trajectory. I just love him, and it is so sad to see this happen.

Aw, Jean :( I still have hope. Adam is with a very good management team. I think there are things planned for the fall. DMG (and RCA, for that matter) didn't have a lot of time to work with after the album drop as Adam left for the UK so soon. And, while I don't feel as positive about the Idol gig as I did a couple weeks ago, I haven't given up hope yet However, I do agree that SOMETHING has to happen to change the trajectory.

Thanks Bullsfan, You made me feel better. I need to take the advise Lynne wrote on the news thread about not being so invested in the life paths that our grown children take, but rather step back in a zen manner and just enjoy watching their lives unfold as they live it. I have done this over the past few years with my young adult children and it has been ever so good for me and I think for them too. I need to be more emotionally detached from Adam's career, let it unfold as it will and enjoy what part of his talent he is able to share with the public.

I can't post this in the news thread because mods have said no discussion about Chris Brown. But since someone brought up how come Chris Brown keeps getting good reviews (this after Q Magazine gave Adam a score of 40) ... this made me happy.
Rolling Stone only gave Brown's current album 2 stars in their latest issue, with the comment: "... but deep listening means getting cozy with a guy so reviled mosquitoes won't bite him. On it he brags about his extra large condoms, and, on 'Don't Judge Me' he turns a tender love song into a twitter rant against haters. It will have a broad audience"
However, it was #1 on their Top 40. Go figure.
