Swarm, I post this to let you know how I feel when reading your posts--and I realize that my feelings are my responsibility and not yours. I really value the content of your posts and learn a lot from them. I am a heterosexual with a gay family member, but agree that I can never understand the depths of the problems faced by the LGBT community. Everyone can learn more, but I find myself being less receptive to what you are saying simply because of the tone of your most recent posts (again, my problem).
I love your signiature and recently shared it with my RL friends. But in this case, I feel like those of us on ATOP that would benefit from learning from your perspective would be best served by the "place of love" approach as opposed to the "break it down" approach.
Maybe, I'm too sensitive--just felt the need to express it.
Alison Thanks. I can't say if you're too sensitive or not but I'm usually in a hurry because I own a business and my background is tech writer. I'm not really a flowery type person, more factual.
I would say I am guilty of stream of consciousness posting LOL wherein I may have taken more time to review and edit but time just doesn't permit it especially since I'm long winded. I think Winston Churchill said something like that "sorry this is too long but I'm on a battlefield" hahaha.
Anyway, I posted that to Talon on one of my first posts here as a disclaimer, you may have missed it. Also, I'm usually around men who, gay or not, are often more direct. YES! That sounds gender biased but the trick is in the mind. The gender spectrum is VAST!
So don't take my WORDS personally. Life is too short when there is so much to be done and figured out!
Thank you for caring to learn about unusual things. But I'm not so sure I can always word things in such a way that satisfy everyone. If I get your attention and you feel like thinking about it - great. The first rule of tech writing is you write for your audience. But I'm not at work now hahaha.
My suggestion is you don't read something once and draw a generalized conclusion. Like when I said Pink dissed Idol (and Adam) I cited her QUOTE. I never said that later on she failed to give him "credit" or whatever and it wasn't meant to be an expose on her. The question WH magazine asked was "Adam Lambert was flailing ....ARE YOU A FAN?" and her answer was "I'm not a fan of IDOL...blah blah blah". A total non sequitur. IMO.
My POINT was she is NOT AN IDOL FAN - that's what she SAID. And we were talking about IDOL judging possibilities, not her view of Adam over 3 years time LOL.
IMO that comment of mine was completely scroll-worthy not significant enough to cause yet another debate. When it's obvious from her RECENT interview, that she's still NOT a fan since she said "maybe if it was a more HONEST show". Paraphrasing.
Anyway, my ONLY interest in Adam is to see his personal happiness and professional respect/success and it's unlikely you'll see me flaily over gbulges etc even if I'm LMAO I just don't have time in the day for that type of stanning.
Lastly, I'll acknowledge it may offend people if I get offended over stans taking an overly "familiar" tone "with" him like "Oh Adumb never change you're so ridiculous" because I do not know of a single person who takes pride in calling themselves "ridiculous".
It's sort of like when your kid does something idiotic and you are too personally harsh about it so they say "Yeah, I know I'm an idiot". Not cool, IMO.
And IMO that all started as "joining in on the joke" from FYE album cover. He did NOT announce that cover as "ridiculous" he thought it was awesome....then LATER he added the "I know I'm ridiculous" thing in. He did not feel RIDICULOUS when he wanted flames coming out of his fucking head, he was being creative and bold. I don't think seeing his creatively get squashed as a joke on him is inspiring. Just like he started out all flaily over androgyny and Kauliff and the entire world was all WTF about it and trying to make a ship over it blah blah blah. He figured it out. STFU - go sell records and keep things out of the public that they don't care about unless it's important.
I will cite after the AMA when stans were in a panic and tweeting crap to Alisan Porter she was NOT HAVING IT. She tweeted back to stfu unfollow her and that Adam was the most awesome person in the world blah blah blah. I actually don't remember WHAT she said but she was entirely supportive of his vision and actions. (WERQ fuck you Aaron Hicklin)
I'm not saying EVERYBODY who is simply a fan has no right to their opinion but it is quite unlikely that you'll EVER see me say a negative word about the boy in any way - and for SURE never sarcasm..
GUIZE Please don't open up another big thing about my SIMPLE OPINION. SCROLL! hahahaha It isn't all that important to me IRL.
Gotta go walk a bunch of dogs, now BAI!
