I think inviting Adam to do the closing ceremony will very much depend upon how the 6 concerts go. These 2 guys are pretty laid back, but I think they want the utmost of experiences with Adam at these appearances. Roger has said several times, they want to see how they all work out together.
If these concerts turn out to be a great experience, I would not be surprised that Adam will appear with them.
That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.

How would Queen perform if it wasn't with Adam?? Would they invite another singer? Elton John maybe? I read that the theme of closing was to be British musicians so I would think Elton would sing his own songs....Fingers cross so F'ing much. 750 million world wide views. 750 MILLION. Since they most likely have to make a commitment (Queen doing closing) then they do need a singer no matter what. So unless something totally unforeseen happens I can't imagine Adam would not be the singer. Who else would they get at that short notice - Paul Rogers? I have not doubt it will all work out and should that closing gig actually become reality Adam will be there. That's what I going with in my own fantasy:-) Thinking BIG NOW! I thought that I had read some interview somewhere where Adam said he couldn't do the Olympics because it was for Brits only. This years theme is British musicians. They may get Paul Rogers. Hopefully not Martel. I saw him on Idol and thought it was really weird.

Kinda OT but I just realized why I love this forum so much. It is full of ultra-talented people. Okay, let's approach this rationally and logically, rather than as Adam fans. Hypothesis: Adam will perform with Queen at the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
Proof:
1. Queen will perform for the closing ceremonies of the Olympics this summer.
2. Queen will perform with Adam Lambert for 6 concerts this summer.
3. Queen and Adam will put in a great deal of time rehearsing and working on a spectacular show, which will be perfected after the 6 concerts.
4. Therefore, in terms of time and effort, it is only logical to use the same frontman for the Olympics, rather than spend more time and effort for just this one-off.
5. The Olympic performance will be massive. Seen around the globe. It is only logical to use a frontman who can perform Queen songs with world class, huge vocals, and who, simultaneously, has a massive stage presence necessary for such a world stage. It is widely acknowledged that there is no other singer in rock/pop today who can sing with the range, power, and finesse of Adam Lambert. He also has a reputation for eating the stage with his presence.
6. Therefore, Adam is the obvious - and only - candidate to appear with Queen at the Olympics.
7. Therefore, it is only logical and rational to SQUEEEEEEEEEEE and jump for joy that Adam WILL perform with Queen at the Olympics.

This is only my speculation: With Freddie being a closeted gay and the US basically being against Queen after that video/performance where they were in drag it would seem reasonable to think that if they were the rebellious FU type deep inside that having an openly gay US male fronting their band at the largest closing ceremony in the world would more than pay homage to Freddie and send a big Fuck You to the US... OK, sorry that is just my rebellion and attitude since I am sure Brian and Roger are above such petty thinking... Anyway, as I said a few days ago Adam leaves the US pining for radio play and will come back from Europe later this summer with radio peeps clamoring over themselves to be the cool cats that embrace his music. But only after he makes it big abroad. I have thought this for a long time. Adams space ship has taken off and I am so happy to be a part of this community and share the love and excitement of Adam's journey. This has been such a fantastic week!
