Lets call an end to the older fan discussion. There will always be cray-cray fans of all ages. I suspect that Adam's inclusiveness draws many people in. I seriously doubt that Adam would tell the older fans to stay home.

How do you get Canada adds to show on the mediabase chart? They don't show on mine.Just go to the pull down menu where it says "Add a format" and add Canada HAC and Canada Top 40.  |

No, I said I'd be happy with 10 adds if the majority were from Top 40. Of course, like I said, I did expect Q and Boston. Q3, can you explain that weird ad saying that Boston and Q102 added early? Or ask your RCA friends, "WTF?!" ;D Right. I didn't mean everyone.  Still, the CHR adds are getting closer to the "magic 10 number". LOL Like you, I would still like to know WTF happened with Q102 and Boston! This pretty much proves that doing radio shows does not always mean a single will get added to a station. I knew that....just was hoping for the best case scenario in Adam's case!  Boston didn't add anyone this week. They never do the Tuesday after a holiday weekend. Guess their PD likes the weekend off!  I don't know about Q102. Feels a bit like they're going to follow rather than lead with this song which is a shame. |

Exactly. It's great to look at things in a glass half full way but I was certainly hoping for CHR adds!
And - I'm not a mod so I'll probably get my fingers smacked for this but can we stop with the lecturing to the older fans? When things get stressful here we seem to eat our own (to quote Adam about the LGBT community).
I'm hitting "reply" and I might be sorry. So much of this has to do with the Idol audience that attaches themselves to the guys. It probably affects all of them to a certain extent, but there isn't a darn thing we can do about it. Other than using some common sense, like don't tell a radio DJ you haven't listened to radio or bought any music in 50 years : , that's probably all that can be done about the situation. It really is an Idol phenomenon! lol ETA: Just saw the green comment above! If my post is off base, please delete! |

WE ARE NOT DISCUSSING THE RIGHT WAY TO BE A FAN ON THIS FORUM.
IT IS A PERMANENTLY BANNED TOPIC.
THIS INCLUDES THE "OLDER FANS" DISCUSSION.
It is appropriate to discuss demographic and radio airplay, because that is part of the business.
Also, posting that my son/12 year old neighbor/a girl I met in the checkout line ETC loves Adam is not proof of anything and does not belong in the Numbers thread. So do not go there.
Similarly, posting stories about individual fans or small groups of fans does not belong on this forum.

If you cannot participate in a discussion about radio audience demos and Top 40 target of 15-29 year olds, then scroll or avoid this thread for the next few weeks. Top 40 is about music listeners who are <30. And the PDs/DJs need to seek out artists who appeal to that audience.
Adam needs to do high profile events that target these young fans and balance that out with high-paying gigs like Freshtival that have older audiences. That is how the business works.

5 for Top 40 I'll take BUT some food for thought...next week it's Kelly's impact "add" date for her next single Darkside..Now How many adds for Top 40 do you think Adam will get? This is why I worry, it's today, the adds should be HIGH next week 'adds' will dribble in. oh dear off to drink Adam is not Kelly, and no way near her right now. Marie, I don't think she is comparing Adam to Kelly, just saying that with it being Kelly's impact date, there is a good chance Adam will be overlooked on these big stations next week, as well.

It's not easy following the numbers Yes, I believe you are correct. And she is right. Stations only add a limited number of songs each week, if any. I am sure that some Clear Channel Top 40 stations will come on board eventually. IAC it is not going to be easy -- NCOE is going to have to make a move on HAC and hopefully cross over. So my recommendation is get ready for the long slog. Adam fans are tough and we can handle it. |

I don't know about Q102. Feels a bit like they're going to follow rather than lead with this song which is a shame.
