It is! I just don't like the way it was framed. Lowest #1 album since Nov 2011 & now first to fall out of top 10 since Dec 2011. Feeds the trolls. :( and ;DThere is no chart for falling out of the Top 10 in a week. There is a chart for #1 Top 200 and #1 Digital album

I'm not worried about this week. #12 is still ok (not great, but ok) What I worry about is what will happen over the next several weeks.
Right now, there is really nothing to stop the free-fall (free-fall isn't really the word I want to use, it's not that dramatic). Point is, something--radio, promo, Queen, whatever--has to come into play to help the album level-off and stay on the chart.
They did an amazing job of keeping FYE selling. Of course, the album had WWFM, which was pretty huge. And there was Christmas. But, there were also a series of big promo events along the way that gave the album nice bumps, like Oprah and the AI performance.
I know Adam is going overseas to do promo, but I wish there were a few things planned here to help boost the album until radio kicks in. (and, who knows, maybe there are)
eta---Adam got them a #1 debut, now it is time for his management to use this to get him some mainstream promo attention.

The adds for NCOE on CHR were mostly smaller independent stations, which means this song will take the “IIHY”-route, that is, slowly build up from independent stations if feed-back and requesting is good. The bigger stations “supporting” this song have all lowered rotation and mostly spin 1-2/per day, evening or overnight. HAC is looking good and Canada is being schizophrenic as usual. RADIO CHR 80 77 ADAM LAMBERT Never Close Our Eyes 82 66 16 1.557* *Update from the 5/25 HAC 43 38 ADAM LAMBERT Never Close Our Eyes 347 264 83 1.932 +11 Spins +6 Bullet +0.009 AI C CHR 48 48 ADAM LAMBERT Never Close Our Eyes 153 157 -4 2.134 -3 Spins -8 Bullet +0.017 AI C HAC 52 50 ADAM LAMBERT Never Close Our Eyes 96 78 18 0.393 = Spins -2 Bullet = AI Distances to competitors The distances chart reflects the relative movement of NCOE to selected competitors. These are typically songs that NCOE is likely to pass when moving up the chart, or songs that are likely to pass NCOE. Green text indicates that NCOE gained on the song in question compared to yesterday’s update, while red text indicates that NCOE lost terrain to the song in question.
The actual daily changes are the +/- numbers in parenthesis. Finally, when using the term “ahead of” then NCOE is higher on the chart than the song in question. I'm a little nervous, Boston has not added, Z100, Q102 has not added. These are previous big supporters. He did the music festivals for them and then nothing. What does he have to do. Does RCA need to plug this more?

We I just don't know the answers. Maybe I can answer the first one though - I don't think HE has to do anything. He has done everything he can and more imo. Now it's up to RCA, PDs, fans (to a certain extent) and the UNIVERSE.

Adam has done everything he humanly can to get his album selling and his single moving. Seriously, what more can he do? Now his management needs to get to work in the US to get him more mainstream exposure. I would say his label needs to do more, as well, but I don't think there is anything more they can do. Adam has a #1 album, you know RCA wanted nothing more than to have a single hitting hard on radio. I have come to the conclusion, that at least when it comes to Adam, RCA has done about all they can do. If they could do more they would have done it already.
I am trying to adjust my mindset---I kept waiting for RCA to perform some kind of magic. I honestly thought they probably had about 10-15 big CHR adds in the can for the week Adam's album went #1, the video debuted, and the single impacted radio. What I am realizing is that it is going to be a long haul. Kind of a "IIHY long haul" I am just going to watch the spins, wait for recurrents, and see how high the song can get.
I do feel a little nervous for album. This amazing album, that went #1, is on a slide. And I don't know what will be there to stop it.
eta---sorry for the long, angsty post, lol. It is just how I feel. The funny thing about this fandom, though, is just when you start to feel a little down, something good usually happens to pick you back up. It is a roller coaster

[grimaces]
I.don't.get.it.
Really don't.
Adam is working his butt off. His management company has pulled out the stops. While I don't pretend to know what's going on behind the scences, I really don't see RCA slacking. The album is getting rave reviews. The video is getting kudos. The print squawkers are behind him (EW notwithstanding). The online squawkers are behind him.
Why the FUCK is radio dragging its feet so badly??

I have come to the conclusion, that at least when it comes to Adam, RCA has done about all they can do. If they could do more they would have done it already. The local KISS station in Dallas tweeted the link to Toby Knapp's blog post re: the music vid yesterday, which had a link to the video and aske for feedback. I tweeted them that I loved it. I saw where Y100 Miami did the same. So the stations are asking for feedback from their listeners. I can only assume they will make their decision on the feedback they get. I am trying to adjust my mindset---I kept waiting for RCA to perform some kind of magic. I honestly thought they probably had about 10-15 big CHR adds in the can for the week Adam's album went #1, the video debuted, and the single impacted radio. It is just how I feel. The funny thing about this fandom, though, is just when you start to feel a little down, something good usually happens to pick you back up. It is a roller coaster I don't think Adam can do any more either. He's been visiting stations across the country since March. He's done radio concerts for the major stations on the east coast. He's done interviews for shows who just happened to catch him in the hallway. He's done everything short of camp outside this stations. I would have thought those big CHR stations would have been lined up for adds on impact week, especially since Adam did shows for them. One of the things that truly baffled me was that FMBQ ad that RCA took out, stating that Q102 and KISS Boston were early adders, and they haven't added NCOE. If they're playing the other artists that were booked for these shows, why aren't they playing Adam? Specifically I'm talking about Q102 and KISS Boston. Giving it 1 spin a day and during off peak hours is not giving it a fair shake. It's just not. This just reeks of something higher on a corporate level that is political in nature. And since a handful of media conglomerates own the bulk of the radio stations in the US, they control 95% of the airplay.

He just can't catch a break on radio. They really don't want to play him ( along with everybody else off Idol that isn't named Kelly, I should add). I don't get it. What has changed so much in just a couple years? Right now, the song isn't even being given a chance---spins overnight and from fan voting/games aren't any way for music to reach an audience.
