OMG LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEEEEE THE VIDEO!!!!!!! I'm a huge fan of dystopian concepts and I really liked the way they set this up. A bit ironic about the unclosing electronic "eyes" watching the inhabitants considering the lyric, lol. I really love the power Adam has in his hands (literally) by taking the pills that keep them (barely) alive and turning it into liberating color. And then at the fence when they were being sprayed, there was like a forcefield around him, right? That kept the harmful fumes from them, and instead turned into brilliant color instead and painting them in rainbow hues in a dance of freedom and rebellion. And then of course they had to stop dancing quickly because they had to go back and rescue the others, of course Love love love it!!!!! Going to watch some more! Yes! This! LOVE the alchemist Adam, the beautiful forcefield, and the dance of freedom!! skylar and NoAngel

Seriously, I rarely "get" music videos but have come to enjoy them visually. I really don't think they are open to too much interpretation -- they're too short. The message in NCOE is clear enough to me for the time they had to tell the story.
I do love how we all analyze and discuss, it's remarkable to me how many takes we all have viewing the same context. But, sometimes I think we try to make Adam way more complex then he may actually want. P.O.M.E.G.R.A.N.A.T.E discussions come to mind. I was sooo into how remarkable it was that they chose that fruit for the video especially after all the discussion we had regarding it's importance to mythology and darkness to light. I'm not being sarcastic either -- I really learned a lot through those discussions. But, it also just so cracked me up when Adam's explanation was, "We were looking for a fruit that would splatter."
With NCOE I'm just going to sit back and look at the compostion, the costumes, the makeup, the bods, the colours, the dance moves and not try and figure out exactly what everything means cuz that's how I roll.
For me, personally, I like all the "music vids" we got from all the radio fests this past week!

A little bit OT - sorry. As we wait for the music video (YAY!), I wanted to share this fun story with you about Finnberts meeting Sauli at the fashion show. You can feel Sauli's kind personality here and the love & support these Finnberts are giving him. He was really touched that ppl came to see him. www.twitlonger.com/show/hjqqe0This is so cute. Sauli is such a nice and humble person I wish I can meet him some day. Cute story! Thanks!

I wonder if it's incredibly frustrating and a little sad for Adam that his fans pick him apart as much as his critics do? I love the video but I was a teenager when MTV came around and music videos weren't any more complicated than a girl rolling around on the hood of a car. Maybe that's why I don't look to a 4 min video to be life changing and/or a cinematic masterpiece. It's just a fun way to listen to music I love with added eye candy. LOL whenever I think of MTV and the first video I think of this one.. Blondie's Rapture!!! Can't get worse than this. LOL that's pretty awful this is the video that always comes to my mind

For someone like me who loves to analyze things to death, that was a bit deflating But no worries, art is about everyone finding their own meaning in it. :D Anyway, what I'm wondering about is why Adam is different from the others in the NCOE video and why did he have the power to change things? Was he a newcomer? A mutant? Or maybe he just had an epiphany and realized the power that was inside of him all the time? I think the last one is the theory I'm going with.

I can remember being a pre-teen glued to the TV just staring at these videos... letting them repeat over and over. Well video didn't kill the radio star, but auto tune killed the rock star. Hmm, personally I don't really care about auto tune as long as the music's good So um I just watched the NCOE video... what the hell?! ??? Don't like it? Personally, I really like it. Much more than the BTIKM music video (which I found lulzy). I would have preferred a wider shot of the neon dance scene, as others have said... the choreography would have been better served....but that's about my only criticism. Adam as usual is gorgeous. *runs off to re-watch*

Yes! This! LOVE the alchemist Adam, the beautiful forcefield, and the dance of freedom!! skylar and NoAngel This!! I LOVE IT!! It was largely what I expected and beautifully executed. The art direction, pacing, lighting, etc. all reflect the monotone, imprisoned world in which they are trapped. I had no problem with the effects on a music vid/TV scale. I think they are quite beautiful actually. I love how Adam breaks from traditional music videos by just softly mouthing the words at the beginning instead of lip synching, which is almost always done. It's as if he's thinking these things to himself, yet can't release his thoughts. His intensity with which he sings builds as his realization that he has the power to free himself/themselves from this endless entrapment. My only complaint is the photography/editing of the dance at the end. It was too fast with no establishing or full shots to allow for a full experience of the choreography. And I wish it was longer, of course. But I do think it clearly conveyed the resolution of the story. And Adam is breathtakingly gorgeous in it. LOOOOVE!!!!
