@arjanwrites: [Review] @adamlambert Leads Pop Rebellion in Video for New Single "Never Close Our Eyes"www.arjanwrites.com/arjanwrites/2012/05/-adam-lambert-premieres-video-for-new-single-never-close-our-eyes-review.htmlAdam Lambert Premieres Video for New Single "Never Close Our Eyes" [Review] Adam Lambert perfectly balances style and substance in the freshly unveiled video for his new single "Never Close Our Eyes." Lambert makes a powerful statement in the video that goes way beyond the literal meaning of the song. In fact, the video neatly encapsulates Lambert's distinct brand of pop, which emphasizes the importance of individuality and self-expression no matter what other people say or think. Set in a repressed Orwellian society, Lambert's video depicts a bleak, futuristic world with people being treated as slaves who must submit to a totalitarian regime that rules with an iron fist (and many watchful eyes). True to form, Lambert breaks out of the mold and sets off a firestorm of change that inspires others. He refuses to take his daily dose of mind-numbing medication and resists other brain-washing techniques to end up leading a colorful rebellion that crushes the status quo. more

popcrush.com/adam-lambert-never-close-our-eyes-video/ADAM LAMBERT LEADS FUTURISTIC REBELLION IN ‘NEVER CLOSE OUR EYES’ VIDEO Adam Lambert finds himself in a futuristic, mind-controlling lab environment in the video for his latest single, ‘Never Close Our Eyes.’ The singer leads a rebellion among a group of oppressed inmates forced to wear drab clothes, wait in line to receive special pills, and perform mindless chores. The video is just as edgy as it seemed from the 17-second teaser released last week. Lambert wakes up in a dark room and somehow has a flawless head of hair when he pulls back his hoodie. Later, he and the other subjects are scrubbing floors when he stands and sings, “Why can’t we just live life with no consequence / And always live in the now.” Several of his zombified friends stop their work and begin dancing. Though cameras track their every move, Lambert leads a small group of inmates who want to escape. At the gates, they are met by security forces, who spray a cloudy gas to repel the troublemakers. Lambert seems immune to the gas, though, thanks to an invisible force-field surrounding him that turns blue when it comes in contact with the spray. more

I don`t wan`t to be rude but sometimes when I`m listening the radio interviews made in USA, I find some of the interviewers so irritable NOT to let Adam speak but talk and talk and talk by themself! Some of them really love their own voices and unfortunately totally miss the point! >:( Sorry if this is a little bit OT :

These dj's are rude and are showing their bias. Adam is always a gentleman and puts up with their ignorance. Many probably do not respect Adam and are showing that disrespect. Fuck um. Adam always wins.

Love all the posts about the video-- yay for diversity of opinion. I fall into the "tell me less so I can use my imagination more" camp, but that's just me.
I agree with those who are saying that the oppression isn't an outside threat. Other than the cameras, there really isn't anything overtly menacing. The drones are walking of their own accord, no guns or guards are around. They are eating the pills themselves, not being force-fed. No one is shouting at them to wash that stupid bridge in unison. And that fence that keeps them in looks kind of flimsy and has a big old gap in it, and the white-suited guys look like it'd be pretty easy to kick their asses.
So yes, I think it's a self-imposed imprisonment. Very, very apt for modern society. We put such restrictions on what we do, what we think, what we say. Even what we wear. Let's face it, for many people, the thing that holds us back most is our own fears and ideas of what can and can't be.
The symbolism of color here is very powerful. Adam's eyes have color-- he can see a different possibility.
And now that I think about it, the last scene fits this perfectly-- they all run back inside, even though they are now supposedly free to go anywhere, because that is where change has to happen first.
Oh, and I feel awful for not mentioning this before, but Adam looks FANFUCKINGTASTIC in the video!!!!!!!!!!! Uuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnffffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!

Adam says he loves making music videos. That in itself is enough for me to enjoy anything he puts out. Here's to many more! *raisesfullglass*
