I'm enjoying watching Adam grow out of the limitations you get from doing plays all your life AND feeling judged for every word and move when you're being yourself. It's not easy to be yourself on stage when your every fiber says follow the script. And if you have the least bit of uncertainly with your audience, banter and being uninhibited performing is almost impossible, unless you're a true uninhibited person, IMO. Adam has the gift of gab but he also has had to work very hard staying on message and being accepted as familiar and not scary (LMAO, really) to casual observers in the media and shows.
He comes from family, friends and places that don't look for cool but look for kind, interesting, creative, fun, uninhibited, fierce (very different from cool) and explosive joy. This is definitely not the world of radio and popular culture.
I avoid getting into his head in writing but he's said, and I can see it every time...that he feels safe with Glamberts. Yes Adam, and thank you so much for Fantasy Springs lol.
So when I watch this era now, the first shows (Chicago ?) he was a lil controlled (for lack of a better term) ....then last weekend in the sweltering heat he was much more loose even the "got the vapors" type of typical Adam-not-on-stage- ad lib and flail....made me SO happy. And of course, talking about the sound problems we saw him with no cover.
KEEP WERQING ADAM, everybody will relate to the real person as he emerges on stage more and more.
A couple more things he's said from the start were "I know I'm ridiculous" (BOO), and of late, "I'm not cool enough" or "I'm dorky".
My crystal ball tells me that pretty soon, he's going to comfortably and intuitively put alot less mental emphasis on the coolness factor. And if he's not the next coming of male pop star, so be it. He'll be over it by then.
My money's on next coming of male pop star, facilitated by his new confidence from his great personal and professional achievements.
I'm still LMAO at pics of him picking away and his little home sound board thingy and excited over being in the first professional studio that will remain nameless ....compared to now Exec Producing BB #1 and being close friends with industry insiders who love him for who he is.
