HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOSH and SETARCH!!I won't go over to PH's site and was wondering if he ever mentioned Adam's historic #1 on the Billboard and Digital charts and posted his NCEO video? If he has ignored this then he is ignoring a great milestone for his community and doing it a disservice. He ignored it. and he mainly ignores Adam. He's mentioned him once in the last couple of weeks. Do it for the community kind of thing Adam..

OT but awesome: Green Lantern relaunched as brave, mighty, and gay: news.yahoo.com/green-lantern-relaunched-brave-mighty-gay-070052544.htmlExcerpt: DC has been a leader in incorporating gay characters into its comics — they had one of the first male gay kisses back in 1988. ... Green Lantern would be the highest-profile openly gay hero — even the parallel earth version. "It was just meant to be — Alan Scott being a gay member of the team, the Justice Society, that I'll be forming in the pages of 'Earth 2,'" Robinson said. "He's just meant to be part of this big tapestry of characters." Some groups have protested the inclusion of gay characters, but Robinson isn't discouraged, noting that being gay is just one aspect to Scott. "This guy, he's a media mogul, a hero, a dynamic type-A personality and he's gay," Robinson said. "He's a complex character." *** [Insert sound of thundering herd of society leaving radio in the dust]

NO NO NO NO -- PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE LOCAL!! IT IS A WASTE OF TIME.
LOCAL REQUESTS ONLY FROM KISS108!!!! LOCAL PLAYS ONLY!!! ********** This is not the 10th largest station in the US -- Boston is the 10th largest market in the US. In the last Arbitron Rating 8.6% of the radio listeners in metro Boston listen to KISS108FM. The Boston media market is 4,012,500 people. The #1 market New York is 15,573,500 people -- and because it is a much larger market, 14 NY stations have more listeners than KISS108 including two Top40 Stations -- Z100 and WKTU (which is almost as big as Z100). 8 stations in LA are larger. ETC. ETC. ********* If you want to help Adam -- local requests plus a few very important items on page one. Jeez!!!!!! Sorry you felt it necessary to scold me with the "No, No, No". I had I guess errounously assumed only people from the area would do it. >:( I assumed it was a no-brainer. Yes, I know it's the market. I put station instead. Jeez....slap my hand. aww don't feel bad...I saw that you specifically said New England in your post.

Need a clarification. When Adam plays a radio station event with other artists...does the station ask him to perform...or do the management teams of artists ask if they can participate? Or a combo of both? But if a station says YES..love to have you... I don't get why the adds do not follow such an event. Why waste the events time with an artist they do not wish to promote through adds? There has to be more to it...than I am just not getting it. I "do get" from the conversations on the thread that he is doing this as promo and is not paid. And for FYE he was not "booked in" to do the jingleballs as they thought he would not need to do them. Now he does to get exposure.OH PS As far as gettng burned out. This is his passion...he has goals and as with any business there are those who work hard their whole working life. Young adults and people in many, many careers work their butts off for personal satisfaction, to get ahead, or out of necessity. The hard workers may be getting fewer and further between .. but don't get me started on generational differences related to investment of energy (company time and personal time). I would assume record labels offer several options from their list of available pop artists (that currently have a single to promote) to these radio concerts and the station picks who they want. These shows are a form of payola to the radio stations. The radio stations have to be generally interested in the artist's relevancy to their audience or they aren't going to put them on the line-up. However, that doesn't mean the stations are in the position of being REQUIRED to add or play any song from any artist. All it really means is that they will consider your singles when they come across their desk. ITA about the question of Adam getting burned out. This is his job and his passion. Adam was drawn to a career in The Arts. That basically means his "job" and his "passion" are combined. That's why those who chose this path are basically consumed with their job around the clock. It is not a 9 to 5 job, it is a 24/7 consuming life choice. There was a new reality/documentary show on CW last night about what it takes and what life is like for professional ballet dancers. The statements from the dancers were about how dance had to be an obsession to succeed at this level. I imagine the same thing is true for most successful people in any field of The Arts.

Q3 posted this yesterday, apparently some of you did see it . UPDATE -- if you are going to London -- important info: Queenbert Party time in London justgill has posted some NEW details of this get-together in the Members Only thread. Can everyone planning or wishing to attend please trundle on over there to confirm and catch up with the latest. (P.S. Could a couple of kindly peeps in different time-zones 'pay this forward' for me as I want to be sure everyone who might be going to London sees the post. ) - Paying this announcement forward for justgill. - belle, I think it's great that you heard Shady in the Lindex store! Don't worry about peeps identifying the song. The younger people I know all have a phone app where you just hold up the phone and the Song Title and singer are identified. It's amazing. - as to Adam burning out... I'm not worried about that. He's keeping his eye on the prize. It's those that reach the pinnacle too soon, or with such magnificence that they can't even top themselves, who seem to have the biggest (and sometimes fatal) problems. IMHO

ITA, but also work in the arts is often counterbalanced with long periods of downtime as well. One of the great things about making movies or doing TV, etc. is that you can work incredibly hard during the shoot or while the show is in production, then BOOM! you're done and you are on hiatus, but have made enough money to last several months without you having to do a damn thing.
However, most people do get bored after several weeks of downtime and are recharged and ready to start exploring other creative opportunities again. It can be a great way to work/live and I think I'm far more wired to this type of pace then the workaday world (ah well, the ironies of life...)
Also, many know they need to strike when the irons hot, so you never say no to good work.
I once saw Matthew Broderick in an interview as he was in the middle of yet another smash Broadway show (there was a time a few years ago where he had one after another) and he had been doing eight shows a week, plus promotion for a couple of years solid.
Finally he was taking a break and the interviewer asked about his work ethic and he said, "Yeah, but I'm always amazed how I can go from workaholic to lazy bum in an instant." I can relate.
Adam has done eight shows a week a lot of his life in theater, plus travel. He knows how the system works and he seems to have immensely enjoyed his year at home. I also think he is very in tune with how hard he can push himself. He will take R&R breaks when he can and recharge.

YES -- and this vote matters!!! Not limited to Canadians! VOTE! ETA: Why not release Cuckoo? Oddly, RCA was fairly transparent on this one and Adam told us. They tested 4 singles -- we heard the test track clips on Hit Predictor. All we know of the results is that fans picked Cuckoo. (Adam said so in Wilkes Barre). They also ran the 4 tracks past some influential PDs who showed the most interest in NCOE. RCA has no need to pick a single for current fans -- then needed to pick a single that radio will play, and that casual fans and the Idol audience would like. NCOE fits that bill better than Cuckoo. **** My opinion -- I do not think Cuckoo will be the next single either. I think that next up will be Naked Love which is a better Top 40 track IMHO. That is just my opinion. I hope Naked Love will be released next as well, it's like a perfect, summer pop single. But I wonder if the title as well as the easily believed subject matter, : will have any trouble in getting airplay, or if that's just something that fans are worrying about, but actually have no real significance regarding whether PD will play it or not.
