Anyone watching MTV 10 at top? Just waiting for Adam to say about 3 words. I know I am crazy feeling like a total idiot....watching armed with the DVR control,fingur on the REC button...Adam's 1 sec was so fast that I did not even react fast enough to record...  |

Agree with you - no soul. Big difference here -- Adam's version: he grabbed me at the first verse Marc's version: he lost me at the first verse This guy did sound like Freddie, but no emotion. Just saying...
Many of the Queen fans who don't like the idea of Adam singing with the band have praised Marc Martel - which makes sense, because he's a good singer - but it makes me wonder if the Queen diehards prefer him over Adam because his vocal tones sound eerily close to Freddie's. Is that what they want, a Mercury sound-alike? Even if the singer has none of Freddie's emotion?
Speaking only for myself, I'd rather hear Adam, with all of his vocal powers and ability to deliver songs with passion, interpreting the Queen music catalog in his own unique, fresh way. With all due respect to Marc, the music deserves to be sung by someone who offers more than a copy (although it's a very good copy) of the Freddie sound. There can be only one Mercury. Just like there's only one AFL. |
