which categories is Adam in? I found the "fan army" one...voting there for now That is the one he is nominated for. They also used his photo/video for Animated GIF in the Best Vintage Revivals -- but that is not a vote for Adam. I see to more: Must follow artist on twitter Best VIntage revival after getting 250 points - I exceeded my voting limit.... |

My copy's still strapped to the back of a green sea turtle which is making slow but steady progress across the Pacific. Hope the waterproof wrapping holds up. And that my turtle is not spotted by hungry sharks.

Many of the Queen fans who don't like the idea of Adam singing with the band have
praised Marc Martel - which makes sense, because he's a good singer - but it makes me wonder if the Queen diehards prefer him over Adam because his vocal tones sound eerily close to Freddie's. Is that what they want, a Mercury sound-alike? Even if the singer has none of Freddie's emotion?
Speaking only for myself, I'd rather hear Adam, with all of his vocal powers and ability to deliver songs with passion, interpreting the Queen music catalog in his own unique, fresh
way. With all due respect to Marc, the music deserves to be sung by someone who offers more than a copy (although it's a very good copy) of the Freddie sound. There can be only one Mercury. Just like there's only one AFL.Marc, who has an excellent voice, is no threat to them, as he has no charisma. No one is going to prefer Marc to Freddie or ever say he is as good or good in a different way. He is not changing the revered material of their idol in any way. He is not being accepted by Brian and Roger as good enough to front their own concert... Adam is trespassing into sacred territory for some of these fans. In a way I understand, because I already don't think anyone could ever sing my favorite Adam songs and leave me completely satisfied and not wishing I could just hear Adam sing them again, and I have only been stanning Adam for three years. I do think, as usual, Adam is talking about these performances in just the right way whenever he is asked about them by media, always respectful and humble. I can't wait for these shows! Those of you who have loved Queen and now love Adam must be in heaven!YES, I am in heaven! I loved Queen (and Freddie Mercury) and it was a nice coincidence first time I heard Adam he was singing with Queen at EMAs. I have tickets for two Queen and Adam Lambert gigs and I really look forward to both of them! Surprisingly, even as a big fan of Freddie, I loved Adam's performance and I fell in love with his voice immediately. Anyway, I agree, I can't imagine anyone singing Adam's songs would make me satisfied (at least not yet). |
