Marc, who has an excellent voice, is no threat to them, as he has no charisma. No one is going to prefer Marc to Freddie or ever say he is as good or good in a different way. He is not changing the revered material of their idol in any way. He is not being accepted by Brian and Roger as good enough to front their own concert... Adam is trespassing into sacred territory for some of these fans. In a way I understand, because I already don't think anyone could ever sing my favorite Adam songs and leave me completely satisfied and not wishing I could just hear Adam sing them again, and I have only been stanning Adam for three years. I do think, as usual, Adam is talking about these performances in just the right way whenever he is asked about them by media, always respectful and humble. I can't wait for these shows! Those of you who have loved Queen and now love Adam must be in heaven!YES, I am in heaven!  I loved Queen (and Freddie Mercury) and it was a nice coincidence first time I heard Adam he was singing with Queen at EMAs. I have tickets for two Queen and Adam Lambert gigs and I really look forward to both of them! Surprisingly, even as a big fan of Freddie, I loved Adam's performance and I fell in love with his voice immediately. Anyway, I agree, I can't imagine anyone singing Adam's songs would make me satisfied (at least not yet). Hi Shimoli, I think I will be in the extreme position in regards to Adam. I won't like anybody singing Adam's songs full stop. |

This is why it it so savvy and smart of Adam to present Queen's music the way he plans to: giving the songs life with his own interpretation, paying homage to Freddie, but NOT imitating him. This allows fans (of both Queen and Adam) to avoid the potential embarrassment of comparisons. No one needs to feel hurt. When Adam's vocals awe and amaze, it won't diminish Freddie in the eyes of his fans because Adam's performance will be different. Apples and oranges. Likewise, Adam can avoid backlash if their performances are picked apart and compared because they won't be copies of each other. The songs will stand on their own. People will compare regardless YEP !!! |
