And speaking of Sasha.. Sasha Mallory @sashamallory @tommysbitch28 my favorite song would have to be Kickin in.. Gets me every time :D I would have to agree with Sasha. After sticking loyally by the badass Shady as my favorite for so long, I'm giving up. Love me some Shady, but nothing competes for me with the kickin' vibe of Kickin In. I adore that song so much, and to me it's easily the coolest song Adam has ever produced. Of all of Adam's songs, Kickin In is the one I would most easily send to my music snob friends, the top-40 hatas, the Idol-suspicious, the hipsters and the wanna-be-hipsters and the genuinely cool cats to explain my love of Adam. For me, this song, and the live performances of it, are the ultimate proof of Adam's Awesome. Plus, it's my hubby's favorite ;D. Speaking of Adam's stylistic range (Underneath to Kickin In to yesterday's surprising and winning By The Rules), I have a vocal observation that's been bugging me since the snippets first came out that I just wanna get out of my head... This is way out of left field, but does anyone else get an unexpected Tracy Chapman vibe to Adam's vocals on Underneath? The bits before he goes into the soaring chorus? Especially when he's singing the "baby better watch you step"/"welcome to my world of truth" lines. I just love the variety and many different shades to his voice! I too LOVE Kickin In. The whole thing is fabulous.. and the production is very, very creative, especially the opening. I learned to love shady, that one was not immediate for me. My ears were not used to hearing any kind of funk. On a side note. My 8 year daughter started singing naked love in the car after only hearing it one other time... I think this one will be the next single.  |

Me thinks these ladies do protest too much. They know they're on the losing end of the battle. Look at all this wonderful progress in open-minded advertising that Q3 just catalogued. I saw the Gap ad she mentioned on the side of a bus the other day. Just put the biggest grin on my face:  ;D These complaints are the dying shrieks of a bigoted past. They have little to do, I dare hope, with our future. |
