Folks, Since we are all trying to request at the local radio stations - I want to share this e-mail exchange my friend had with his local station in Atlanta. May be our local Atlanta contingent can help as well. ( i took the names and addresses out) Read bottom up: From: PD> Date: Thu, 7 Jun 2012 To: XX Subject: Re: Tracks from Adam Lambert's new album?
Thanks for the feedback on that, XX. In out next music meeting we'll play these songs for the group. We've alrwady been reviewing and considering Never Close Our Eyes. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some feedback, always helps us. Have a great day, XX. My best, PD Star 94

Hi PD Well - my personal favorite is Shady, my wife likes Never Close Our Eyes, Trespassing and Running. It would be great if you gave these some plays :-)

Thanks XX, we watched Adam's first single from this new project but only played it a few times before it fell from the charts. We're reviewing some of the other tracks on that CD now. What's your favorite? Thx, Program Director Star 94 On Sun, Jun 3, 2012 at 4:38 PM, XX < > > wrote:
How about playing some tracks from Adam Lambert’s new album - e.g. Shady?? I wonder if writing to the PDs, may be once every couple of weeks, would be helpful... - any thoughts? Would that be considered too much? I find it interesting that this station responded right away and asked for more input... Why in the world would a fan email a radio station and request something other than NCOE? Did this person not know what the current single was? If not, that's understandable. If so, why are they requesting songs that aren't the single? I'm completely confused by this! Maybe I'm missing something here or I didn't understand who was asking what in this email correspondence?

The radio station will only consider playing THE single (NCOE) but they often play a few tracks from a new album when considering if they should play THE single. It sort of makes sense -- these are music pros who are supposed to know about the artist and about new music. The e-mail exchange may have been to keep a listener happy with polite chatter and responsive, interactive messages. Just a guess but it is a common customer engagement practice.

I'm not wondering about the radio station knowing what the current single is. I'm wondering why a fan would request a song that wasn't the single, unless they didn't know what it was. Maybe this fan isn't on any fanboard and doesn't know that BTIKM was the first single and NCOE is the current single? I could see that happening.
