Folks, Since we are all trying to request at the local radio stations - I want to share this e-mail exchange my friend had with his local station in Atlanta. May be our local Atlanta contingent can help as well. ( i took the names and addresses out) Read bottom up:

I wonder if writing to the PDs, may be once every couple of weeks, would be helpful... - any thoughts? Would that be considered too much? I find it interesting that this station responded right away and asked for more input... Why in the world would a fan email a radio station and request something other than NCOE? Did this person not know what the current single was? If not, that's understandable. If so, why are they requesting songs that aren't the single? I'm completely confused by this! Maybe I'm missing something here or I didn't understand who was asking what in this email correspondence? |

The radio station will only consider playing THE single (NCOE) but they often play a few tracks from a new album when considering if they should play THE single. It sort of makes sense -- these are music pros who are supposed to know about the artist and about new music. The e-mail exchange may have been to keep a listener happy with polite chatter and responsive, interactive messages. Just a guess but it is a common customer engagement practice. |
