Yes, it is indeed Sunday here in New Zealand, which means it is a certain someone's birthday! You guys have well and truly beaten me to it this year! 8-) HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATZMADAM! Have a wonderful day birthdaying, berting and thinking about your upcoming EPIC trip of a lifetime!!! A message for you from the THE man! How about one of your favourites to get your birthday off to a great start: ...and then you might want to revisit THE Sydney concert moment where you were right near the action - not that you need reminding about that! (especially around 4.20 mark!)

I don't know if this has been posted yet ... Adam featured on a entertainment program - he even speaks a little in Japanese! I think it's the same program he sang FYE on during promo rounds 2 years ago.. the one where one of the male announcers was touching him and saying he was so strong! This vid has a really cute moment at about 1:30 when they start talking/showing Adam and Sauli - the reaction of the guy in the bubble on the left is hilarious - the girl just nods and smiles. Thanks for posting this. At 0:50 Adam clues us in on what really drives him: singing live to an audience. That's not news, but it is nice to hear him state it unequivocally. When we try to understand Adam and what drives him, what keeps him going thru all the sh!t he puts up with, there's your answer. Like many other artists and musicians, it is the ability to create, live, in front of an audience that appreciates his art, that fuels his fire. He would perform anywhere he could --- even if it was at bar mitzvahs and neighborhood karaoke bars. So happy for him that he can now perform in front of thousands. That's his nirvana.

Gotta give credit to those who's recording stuff. I couldn't do it. I would be too busy jumping up and down breaking out in spontaneous and ridiculous "dance moves" with a drink in my hand At Queenbert I think I'll set my phone to record audio and then hang it around my neck ;D

Did you see the Sleepwalker video I posted for you yesterday on page 26? I did. Thank you for posting it. I think Sleepwalker is my new favorite song You live in the south or north? In the middle. Stockholm, moved in from the north.

Thanks all for the convo about singles... side A and Bs, physical singles... etc. While I don't think I'm much younger than those having the convo, my generation is the transitioning generation. My music was on cassettes until I could afford CDs. I don't recall ever owning vinyl, although there was a turntable in the house. My youngest son just bought a turntable last year. He is 21 and listens mostly to indie music. Unfortunately, he did take it off to NYC with him.

My son just bought a turntable and emailed me to ask about his dad's record collection....he was all excited. "I've never heard WLL on vinyl!!" (of course he was referring to Led Zeppelin but I immediately thought Adam ). Anyhoo....while searching the depths of our basement for our records, I discovered TWO turntables!! Not sure if I'll try out my Trespassing vinyl or not. (a bit leery about the condition of the needles). OH! AND..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATZMADAM!!

I am feeling old right now. Does any one else remember the days when radio stations would play a song off a record that was requested? Course those were the days when they had vinyl and did actually spin a disc. And I don't think they were the "pop" stations. Gah i miss those times. Maybe some of these "less than intelligent" folks are just stuck in a time warp. Both "Tom Dooley" by the Kingston Trio and "The Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel became hits because DJs on local stations (Salt Lake City for "Tom Dooley" and "The Sound of Silence" in Boston and a couple of towns in Florida) liked the songs and played them off the albums. That would never happen today, and it's a shame, I think. Radio is so programmed that you hear lousy songs fifty times a day while great songs are left hiding in the shadows.
