Rolling Stone has Adam's album at #12. Wait - I'm confused.... #12 what?? ??? Thats the drop from his # 1 postion. It shows Trespassing as No. 12 with the previous week as No. 1. I was really hoping that the Rolling Stone issue would show the charts with Trespassing at #1. John Mayer is listed as #1 in the most current issue.

When my kids were in their late teens, I had a boss (young) who had worked for Fred and it was awesome to hear that he was 100% the person he appeared to be on TV, kind, generous, always there if anyone needed anything. One person was not as portrayed, but that was the late 70s, so what's a little pot hidden in the false ceiling among friends. Fred never knew about it and that was probably for the best. Ok - gotta say I watched Mr. Rogers as a kid. I think my mom got a bigger kick than I did out of the show, but mostly because she loved all the double entendres. To this day, I can't read "Don Quixote" without envisioning the dour donkey living in the windmill in MakeBelieve (Donkey Hotey - get it?), nor will I ever forget the scientific name for a duck-billed platypus. Since the magazine is published every two weeks only every other billboard chart gets posted. Adam's debut weeks for both albums fell on the off week so neither his #3 debut with FYE nor his #1 debut with Trespassing made the print copy. :(

I often miss "wild child Adam" and take time to re-watch old videos, but the Heaven and G A Y performances were never among my favorites. They seemed to be stilted, stiff, too choreographed or something. Even tho GNT WAS choreographed, Adam always seemed relaxed, in control, and having fun. Maybe it's just my perception. Give me Adam at MLB or WB any time, loose, silly, ridiculous rather than RAH, for instance. It was good, but so proper and a little too rehearsed. The smile wa there, the grin was not.
