It has nothing to do with view count. For some odd reason that rumor spread like wild-fire. It has more to do with Chart position, whose video it is and label support. I figure it will be added in a couple of weeks. It's disconcerting to see people spamming the VH1 boards spreading around the 20k view count myth and spamming twitter with the same misinformation. This is something that fans should leave to Adam's management and RCA. They will push it on VH1 when they have the right radio in place. They only have 20 weeks max (and probably much less -- WWFM go an amazing 18 week run) on VH1. Why burn it now? My guess is they are a week or two away. Anyway spamming that video is a waste of time and could actually hurt Adam. PLEASE DO NOT DO IT AND DO NOT ENCOURAGE FANS TO DO IT. But playing the video once or twice a day -- is probably an OK thing to do because they look at the number of unique users and the number of user sessions. Look at the #1 album, the UK launch, etc. -- RCA, DMG and all are organizing this release really well. With the notable exception of BTIKM being picked as a single, there is very little to criticize. I strongly recommend that we do what Adam has requested fans do -- request on radio and vote for the OMA Must Follow Artist on Twitter. When he needs us to do something else -- he will tweet a request. He is not shy about asking. NCOE is getting some traction on US and Canadian Pop Radio. Sirius XM is now onboard and their channel 3 "20 on 20" Pop Music Discovery gave it 10 spins yesterday. (SiriusXM X003-FM Mediabase Top 40 US panel). CHUM added and is playing. There are several new spinners. So, check page one and if you have a local station on their, request NCOE. I totally agree with this. I wish people would listen but they are totally convinced that 20k is some magic number and are spamming twitter to get people to watch. It's like herding cats. I too think it's way too early to add. It would be much better to add when it's higher up the charts. People have no patience. They did this with BTIKM. Spammed VH1 to death to the point that Jim Shear got pissed and made a comment on air.

Then maybe VH1 should stop saying vote for your favorite video! Thats where the assumption comes from (most favorite video). It's misleading! This is apples and oranges. The wrong info was that NCOE video on VH1 had to get to 20,000 plays before VH1 would add it to the Top 20 voting ballot. This was tweeted as "secret" info. It was so secret that VH1 clearly did not know that was how it was done. VH1 tells people to vote for their favorite video AFTER it is on the Top 20 video ballot. They use the votes and other factors to select the #1 video. "When Adam had BTIKM up 99.9% of the votes went to him yet the #1-10 received no votes. It's just likw SNOL and Open House Party the so called All Request Music program that doesn't play requests."We have no idea who many votes BTIKM got. I do know some Adam fans believed they got around the max votes per day rule but they probably did not. BTIKM was not likely to be #1 no matter how many votes it got because it was not a Top 20 radio song and had low sales. (We know VH1 uses votes + radio airplay + other factors, probably track sales). SNOL played NCOE last night* because they got requests and the song fits their format. BTIKM is not a Saturday Night Party song and does not fit their playlist. They have been a great Adam supporter. I also expect OHP will play NCOE because it is a danceable track. There was not chance they were going to play BTIKM which is not a hot party song. They have also supported Adam. But let me reverse the question -- how many of the VH1 Top 20, SNOL and OHP Adam fans requesting Adam's music actually wlisten to the shows? I recall that SNOL put an fan on the air who requested IIHY and she was not listening to the show, and really did not even know what the show was. Thankfully, they did not ding Adam for this foolish fan. >> It is going to take a bit of time for RCA to build up NCOE. Give them the time they need and support Adam without spamming. Radio stations and VH1 work to get a real idea of what is popular, if a small group of fans tries to distort that, they will figure it out quickly and it will backfire on Adam. ETA: * Last Night's SNOL NCOE was an Online ONLY spin, not a broadcast spin.

I never believed the 20K # was correct, I'm just curious. Thanks Q3 for explaining some of my questions. I do agree that the 20 vote limit hurt BTIKM. I voted a lot more last time around. Anyway, fingers ready when needed!

The new method VH1 has you can fairly well keep track of who is getting the most votes because they list recent votes. But yes, unless you are watching 24/7 no real way to know. SNOL spun NCOE last night? I am surprised.
