[Thank you for this post...and I'd like to also mention Dr May and his wife's longtime work for/with animals. I would bet Eber and the Lambert sons are well aware of all the accomplishments of Brian May. The airplane/helicopter tweet from Adam to Eber at the EMA time was so dear... Sagitarius, I wasn't familiar with Brian and Anita's animal rights activism before reading your post. Thanks for the additional info, and how much I enjoyed reading about it around and about the web, where I also learned that Brian has an asteroid named in his honor: Asteroid 52665 Brianmay. Who else can say that? With all of his accomplishments, I've always read that he's an incredibly humble man.

Dr. May is truly a Renaissance man. That's a description that fits him perfectly. To me, while it's a great honor for Adam to be paying homage to Freddie Mercury in his performances with Queen, it's an equal honor just to be sharing the stage with Brian May. Jazzhands, I really enjoyed your post about Brain May. Thanks You're welcome! Adam's about the same age as Brian's three children, and I'm hoping for him to learn many things from this experience. Be a sponge, Adam!

[Absolutely--Brian May is not only brilliant and talented, but also a wonderful, caring person. Remember this video with Percy the hedgehog? You can feel the depth of Brian's concern for the little guy. It brings tears to my eyes.
Thanks for that, murly! Yes, a very special and gentle man.

What's this? ??? Hetfield @hetfieldssanity @adamlambert Having your bf do the equivalent f*ck off to british photographers ain't good PR bro We want you to crack it here this time! Reply Retweet Favorite 10m Barry Garlow @barrygarlowuk @hetfieldssanity @adamlambert That's a bit unfair Het, neither of them are British and he probably didn't know it meant freak off here! Giving the v sign with the back on your hand showing is the equivalent of the middle finger in the UK, NZ and Australia. What's it mean in Finland? In the U.S. it's peace or victory.

Thank you, jazzhands for all the background about Brian. I have known for years he was an astrophysicist, but all these other details just go to show what an amazing, caring, intelligent man he is.
His official blog is posting about Adam again. So sweet that he is promoting Adam's solo career:
@brianmaycom: Queen News June 2012: bit.ly/Kt3HmV ADAM LAMBERT PERFORMS AT GAY CLUB, LONDON 9 JUNE - 3 solo shows in California coming up
ETA: Re: Sauli doing the "backward" peace sign; I seriously doubt he meant anything by it. It's so automatic in U.S. (or Finland, perhaps?) to do it either way, so no one really thinks about which way your hand is facing. You just do it however is most comfortable in the moment. His hands were facing inward, so I think he just flashed the peace sign the way that was most natural.
Even if you know consciously it means something, it's still a tough habit to break in the moment.
