Haven't kept up recently but just watched the fabulous G-A-Y performances and Adam was great, much more relaxed, having fun. Random thoughts: 1. I am a fan of the back-tracking. And, yes, I know the drawbacks. I feel Adam is WAY better live than on his previous album but this era I have found myself missing the layers when he is live, and--shock--actually preferring the album for some of the songs. Nobody's voice can come close to Adam's even in the backing vocals. 2. I am happy to have a non-speaking band. Brian's banter reminds me of Ed McMann. We don't need another character on stage--anybody but Adam is distracting to me. 3. I will bet after he watches these videos, we will not see these saggy-backed pants again....or at least not unaltered. 4. Love hearing the first half of the album live but I am missing the attention to the second half. Anxious for the power of Chokehold, OOL etc. But, I can wait for Underneath debuted at the Grammys if I have to. 5. Love Brian spreading his pride in Adam and the choice they made. I suppose that even though Brian and Roger have played with Adam some, they are bound to still be a little bit blown away with him in long practices. Can you imagine him singing the songs with a new warmth to them, songs that they probably thought they knew inside and out but then Adam adds his skills, nuances and interpretations to them? How fun it must be to have their music alive.  Eta: changed Kevin to Brian. Should know not to drive by post in the early hours of the morning. I have to agree with your assessment of Brian's chatter during the Adam in strange shorts concert. It was very strange and very distracting. With everyone always bitching about Tommy, why did I not hear anything about the intrusiveness of Brian's weird behavior? Music Director or not, he's not paid to echo while Adam is talking. |

Oh crap! It sounds like Maxwell isn't on tonight! Sometimes they don't do the 10 at 10 if he's off! :( Oh, and that One Direction song is really crap! But it is One fucking Direction, and the girls love crap, because they are cute. On of them is suspected of being gay. |

If I were there, I'd have taken my shirt off the second he said "I wanna see tits"! I've never done it before, but I'm sure I wouldn't be able to refuse his orders 8-) I almost took it off here at home, just watching the video... ;D ;D ITA. Screw this yellow and black dress code business. When I go to the next concert I am going to make darn sure I have on my best bra. I think this should be his signature song his concerts--everyone (who wants to) takes off their tops and swings them back and forth to NL. Wouldn't that be an awesome statement of understanding his messages?!! And yes, this is about as far from my nature as can be--but I would totally do it! |
