I have often thought about Adam's 'sexiness' and I think that...apart and somewhat separated from the GAY part of the sexiness...is that Adam himself clearly is feeling sexy. He is not 'faking' or acting sexy [which is what most actors and certainly musicians are doing, I suspect] he is feeling and showing what sexy is and looks like. Pretty scary stuff for lots of peeps even without the gay factor.
When MJ or rappers grab their genitals is it about dancing or showing/declaring power. When Adam strokes his genitals...it is because he is feeling sexy and it feels good!! BIG DIFFERENCE. That GB may come about because of his singing...but he feels it and he acts on that....that is very sexy...

It's stupid, I don't see Sam Sparro, Elton John, Simon Amstell, Ladyhawke, etc. interviews plastered in "GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY" so why Adam? I'm genuinely curious cause I can't think of one reason ??? JMHO, but I think Adam gets the "GAY GAY GAY" treatment because he has so many devoted female fans and a rep as a sexy beast. A lot of straight males can't seem to get that one person can embody gayness, sexiness, and attractiveness to women. The artists you name are all popular, and personally I think Sam Sparro's looks are pretty hot. But I don't think any of them has Adam's swoonworthiness. |

Tinafea I love that video and will always be glad I was there to see Adam say those words and sing that song that night. I almost didn't go because ofna previous committment, but then rushed over at the last minute to be there, thankfully.
Annala. Gridlock was the first time I ever saw Adam unleashed and it was so memorable for me.
Mszue I think so, too.

I don't have a way with words, that's why I spend most of my time lurking And I will do my best to make this short and sweet. I've been pondering the sense of unease that can be felt throughout fandom... whether it's fear, worry, or just plain battle fatigue. We've chosen to support a man who's path is difficult on many levels. Change doesn't come easily, Adam knows this and we know it intellectually, but I think emotionally we wish that wasn't so. I think we need to savor our victories, Grammy nomination and a critically acclaimed 2nd album to name just two, but accept that it's going to be a long process. I'm stubborn and Adam deserves success and I'm not going let the difficulties he faces wear me down or take the joy out of supporting such a deserving individual. Had to jump in and make my fingers work for this. Thank you tinafea. Your post and that video made me cry. A perfect reminder of why I'm here. Yep - what you all said - I love all three versions of this song - and the long haul is what it is. |
