Wait. There are people who don't know Queen?! ??? Apparently our very own marie23 doesn't! I am surprised! My kids know Queen and anyone who's ever been to a big sporting event should know We Are the Champions and We Will Rock You! OMG! What about Bohemian Rhapsody?! ??? My 9 year old nephew was singing We Are the Champions last Sunday.

Wait. There are people who don't know Queen?! ??? I think a lot of kids in the US know all the big songs like... We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, Somebody to Love, Fat bottomed girls, etc... but don't know that they are Queen Songs. They know that Queen is rock band, but the connection isn't made. I didn't realize this either until like the 11th grade. Wel, ya, 11th grade is OK!

Mys*&@^#r, where is NCOE on Q102 tonite? I did not listen, getting ready for weekend company. I figured it wouldn't get played no matter what the vote was, since they played it last night. Now, that does not mean I am going to stop voting like crazy! I want them to know we want AFL every night and all day long! ;D ETA: Hmmmm, I just looked at their "last 10 played" and I wonder if they did the 10 at 10 tonight? The song list doesn't look like what would be on the 10 at 10. No One Direction song was there!!Thanks, whatyasay!

I have to confess I didn't know Bohemian Rhapsody until Adam sang it. Then I looked it up. Here is my story of how these times are achangin'!!! I've was a closeted Adam fan at work for a couple of years. Then, I came out at a manager's meeting, feeling so much better as 'my authentic self' . . . and found several other women who also described to me their fascination with our AFL. Since then - and it's been over a year - nothing much has occurred. Today, I was traipsing down the endless corridor of Med/Surg when another manager stopped me. "Did you know there's a free concert this weekend in Golden Gate Park?" "Um . . do you mean next weekend, with Adam?" "Yes! My son and a bunch of friends are going . . and, they have their tickets for Sacramento, too!" "Wait! Do you mean your son is an Adam fan?" "I don't know!" "I bet he's listened to his new album! It's amazing!" "Well, I guess he must be, because he's excited!" Then, I floated away.. Her son is seventeen. A foundation is being laid. Somewhere out there someone knows that Adam Lambert is a miracle; a cyclone of song and style and sex and charisma and stage presence and beauty and intelligence and wit and kindness and respectfulness and manners and honesty and curiosity and exploration and out-of-the-box innovation and abandonment and work ethic and love - universal, complicated and uncomplicated love- and devotion to family, glamily, and this amazing infinite. Others, like me, have said - - - we just have to let this build slowly and naturally. Allow Adam to shine through the morass of mediocrity. I am certain, given time, this will happen. Certain!I just can't get upset over numbers and radio play. Believe me, I request in SF - I think they know me by now. Adam is so NOT fodder for the tweens . . . I won't angst for a moment if they don't get him. It makes me a little squirmy to think they would. While Adam is sweet as apple pie in interviews, in my opinion his sex in performance seals the deal. Wouldn't have it any other way. Momtomany -I LOVE your posts. It's funny that you should post the bolded part above just now because I've been thinking today about how impatient we all are to have Adam get the recognition and success he deserves. I'm reminded of a documentary about Queen someone posted here last year. I think it took them eight or ten years to reach the success we associate with them. There is no doubt in my mind either that Adam will reach that level at some point. In the meantime, he is doing what he loves. He even seems to like promo as much as one can - likes to talk and meet people... He's working really hard, and I'm sure there are/will be down times along the way, but he's on his way for sure. Here is the Queen documentary. It's worth rewatching, and may be of interest to newer visitors/members.
