Just had a thought .. I think that the movie Rock of Ages is going to bring a whole new generation into the rock world... So Adam and Queen will be a real treat for the kids who don't know who Queen is. 99% sure there are no Queen songs in Rock of Ages. However, I really doubt there are many teens or 20 somethings that do not know and love Queen. I don't believe there are Queen songs in the film either.. I was talking about rock music itself. Really I thought most teens are more into POP/rap.. but hey I could be wrong on all accounts. Just giving my opinion not facts. I have five grandchildren and the only ones who are really aware of rock music are the ones who have a dad who has a local rock band and has records that go back to the beginning careers of the Rolling Stones,Queen etc. As a matter of fact and I hate to admit this but I only really learned about the greats in rock, since Adam started singing some of it. My son-in-law has been giving me a mini course.. but then I liked Elvis... Just saying. To add ,my own kids listened to bands like Fleetwood Mac and Moody Blues. There really was a wide variety of music wasn't there?

Now, my daughter is 21 and loves Classic Rock. She always asks me for recommendations of rock groups, singers and their songs. My son loves Queen. These are kids who knew no music when they came from Ukraine. I love it too, used to be all I listened to in fact :D Sometimes I forget that Queen aren't in fact the most famous rock band in the world. They're definitely the most famous rock band here and most loved which is why I'm so excited for Queenbert press! I may have shared this comment here before, if so, sorry to repeat. My oldest son (29), so nationalglampoon you are 10 yrs. younger and MUCH WISER , does know who Queen is. The frustrating comment he made after I told him Adam was going to be fronting Queen this summer for six concerts was "Mom, you know only the older generation would be following Queen now." The quote may not be exact, however, the meaning is right on. He totally respects Queen, but, considers them history not current which in his mind somehow equates to not that relevant???????? Anyway, I do believe outside the US your generation and my son's generation will be totally in awe of Adam's vocal talent when they see him perform with Queen. This is a win/win for Adam and I am sooooo excited to see the videos. Guess what cd I did water exercise to today??? 8-) YUP.......my neighbors got to listen to Queen for an hour today, I turn my music up very loud for pool time ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I suck as a neighbor :D

It was interesting to me to here how Holly's niece and her friends heard about new music. May I ask, since you are in that age group how you and your friends learn new music is released. Plus, if you don't mind....... ;D do you and your friends buy CD's or download singles you like? Thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We learn by word of mouth, itunes, and alot of us know people in the indie music scene here, because we are all crazy drama kids. None of us actually buy CDs, usually itunes. Thank you so very much for answering...........appreciate all info from your generation! To the point...........again Thank You!

I've recently re-discovered Mozart. It's not all about NOW.

I think you need to stop asking him about these things! Ask Kevin, my favorite son ;D about Queen and get back to us!

Listening to KIIS right now and NCOE totally fits this playlist! Except that 6 of the last 10 songs have been songs of 2 or more artists together. "FT"

Skimming the thread and I see Melliemom say Adam is a man, not a boy anymore. Lynne agrees, and Momtomany says he's not fodder for teens. It reminded me of an incident I observed at one of the GN SF Warfield shows.
Some parents with a teen daughter and daughter's friend were standing near me. The girls were around 14 years old. I was chatting with all of them before Adam came on. The parents mentioned that the girls were fans of Beiber and a number of other pop stars.
After Adam had been on for a while I heard the girls yelling to each other, "OMG! He's a Ma-an! A Ma-an!" They sounded kind of silly and starstruck all rolled together. I thought I heard them say something about Beiber, then laugh and point to Adam. Seemed like some sort of comparison going on. I wondered if those pants with the lace-up crotch were getting to them. LOL The girls were pretty silly all through the concert, but obvious were having a great time. Near the end they could be heard yelling, "We love you Adam!"
peace&love

Cute story, nonotme. Lynne had some of her students at Kimmel and said they quite enjoyed the iceberg!
